    Hey everyone.

So I guess I'll introduce myself with a history of my experience with Pokemon.

I'm old enough to remember playing both Red and Yellow on the Gameboy Pocket and later the gameboy colour. Recently I decided that I owed it to my childhood-self to finally uncover the mystery of obtaining Mew in the Gen 1 games, which was something that frustrated me to no end back in the day (I remember looking under the truck a fair few times). Ultimately I went round a friend's house one day and his brother had a mysterious friend that turned up with a Mew and showed me the cloning trick. Suffice it to say that my mind was blown at the time.

I apparently skipped the second generation and started playing again with Sapphire and later Emerald. After this I lost interest again and didn't pay attention to anything pokemon until I decided to watch a youtube series of gen 1 glitches, for the reason mentioned above. I then ended up playing Fire Red and the Ruby Destiny LoG hack (which was actually one of the best games I've ever played).

Now I've borrowed a DS and a copy of White, and I'm trying to get up to date for X and Y.

    That's the story so far!

Hello Mibbles, love the username. Welcome!

I understand what it's like skipping an entire generation due to lack of interest, sometimes a new announcement of a game can get people suddenly wanting to play Pokemon again. Bit sad you missed 4th Gen, it was not that bad at all aside from Diamond & Pearl's crappy speed. And it was X & Y that got you wanting to play again? The games are only out a month from now and I am hoping to eventually play the games and get the hang of the new mechanics. We have the Pokemon X & Y board if you want to discuss and speculate on the new games.

Glad to see you got White, 5th Gen had loads of my fave Pokemon games, but I'm just biased because my fave Pokemon was introduced in that generation. You should pop by the Fifth Generation Gaming section for some fun topics on Black and White, as well as 5th Gen in general. Anyways, that's only some of the many places you'll find on PC alone, and everyone here is very friendly and they'd all love to meet you. If you ever wanna talk, just hit me up with a visitor message because I love meeting new members!

And there's also the staff members in blue, orange and red who you can approach if you need help with anything, like our resident Welcome Lounge mod Cirno. Have fun at PC and I do hope to see you around!

Hi there Mibbles! Welcome to PC!

I didn't quite skip gen 3, just took me longer to play it cause I didn't have a GBA to play them one. But I do get where you're coming from. The same happened when gen 4 came around. It's cool knowing you're catching up though. But yeah, the old games are really nostalgic. I've never done the Mew glitch in the originals but always wanted to try it. I knew a cousin who did though and I was really jealous of them. Gen V is really fun too and I'm hoping you're enjoying them. :) Also looking forward to X and Y too myself, especially with all the new and neat features. But yeah no matter what Pokemon generation you like or have played, you can talk about it here. Hikari suggested a few palces already, but look around a bit and see what kind of forums we have. You will even find ones not relating to Pokemon too. There's really lots of variety here. No matter where you post though, I'm sure it will be a blast!

Anyway, have a wonderful stay here and enjoy yourself. I'm always open to chat anytime so go right ahead and VM me if you like. See you around!

This is one of the first times I've heard of someone playing the first generation, skipping the second, and playing the third. :o All of them were really amazing though, and I recommend picking up G/S/C sometime if you're interested. They're great and the remakes, HeartGold and SoulSilver, were amazing too, but the originals were special in their own little way. Welcome to the forum, Mib!

Urg I never did get Mew or even try to in the old Kanto games. Makes me feel like I missed out on something so chances are I'll play through a copy and try to tinker around with that. Would've been great to experience that as a kid as it sure would have made an amazing memory. :) I'm thrilled to see people joining us here who are getting back into Pokemon though; that's definitely cool to see and you'll continue to ignite that love for Pokemon if you stick around here. We all love the franchise and if you stick around, chances are you'll keep loving it as much as we all do. ♥ X and Y look so so cool!

Enjoy your stay here and the like! You can definitely contact me for any questions or concerns you may have but forum-related questions can be posted in our questions board as well. We're here to help so don't hesitate to give us a holler.
