I really hope Brocco-monkey evolves into a big, thickset ape. I don't want another Infernape- or Ambipom-alike skinny monkey - I want a gorilla. And not a fat one like Slaking either. A big, hardcore gorilla.

Well I am warming up to this monkey though I wish it was chubbier...

They are both small monkeys. Other than that I don't really see any similarities. They both have different ears, mouth, eyes, feet, tails and hands.

If you change the color of any Pokemon you will see similarities in the changed Pokemon to the Pokemon that have the same color, so doing that is not very fair. :|

Even when it's purple it still doesn't look like Aipom. You also have to keep in mind, they're both small monkeys. You're either going to get something like Aipom, or something like Mankey.

Not a Gorilla eh? Slaking is a reference to Gorillas being extremely powerful but also very docile and lazy.

It's actually a combination of both, though it's line is most Slothly based :)
On topic: I hope it evolves into something like Vigoroth :D!

Im hoping that it evolves into an Orangutan because we haven't had one of those yet.

If it turns out anything like Lanky Kong I will be very happy.

Orangutans are really intelligent, rare, and exotic animals....

...but they're also ugly, so no thanks. :( but thats just me, though.

Most primates aren't exactly pretty. I for one like their bad looks. It makes me like them more.

Well I don't think they are Ugly but they could make it like Lanturn, as it was based on an Anglerfish but it's cute at the same time :)

Most primates aren't exactly pretty. I for one like their bad looks. It makes me like them more.

An Orangutan would fit as a grass type fairly well. There are more than one kind of Orangutan. The ugly one most people think of is:

Yeah Grass, Fighting, and Fire are the types that I think will most likely match the Orangutan, especially that one you have a picture of, it has that shaggy look like vines,or grass :)

Really it's not a horrible trade. Combo the right abilities and attacks along with EV training and natural Stats and Natures, you can overcome a lot of type weaknesses. Breloom is a really BAMF that really does need to be copied at least once.

If it's going OU then I think Yanappu should get either better stats, or some exclusive strategy as cheap (or cheaper than) Spore :P

I can see what you mean there, because they're herbivores for the most part, I guess. But how would the actual design(OW sprite and otherwise) go as far as making the orangutan look more "grass" instead of...well orangutan? D:
