"Hold this button to maximize text speed, making it quicker to mash through text, and disable battle anims/HP EXP bars" - How do I program that?
Inspired by Custom Robo Arena for the Nintendo DS and a few other RPGs, I thought of this feature where you could hold a specific button in the overworld/during battles (The R button on controllers, and the A Key on keyboards(not the game's A button which is typically mapped to C) by default)
If that specific button is held when a new text box appears, the text in the text-box will type itself up rapidly. Faster than the maximum speed set in the Options Menu. Almost-instantaneously, making it far quicker for players to mash through text in the overworld and in battles.
Also while this button is held, it will skip all animations and sound effects for attacks, and skip the animation for health bars restoring/depleting and EXP bars filling. Like a "Fast Mode" for the game, but instead of simply multiplying the game's speed it skips over things that normally cost the most time.
