Hottest Year on Record

NASA estimates with over 95 certainty that, in 2016 the Earth was on average 1.78 degrees Fahrenheit (0.99 Celsius) warmer than the mid 20th century mean (1951 to 1980), making it the warmest year on record. Their estimate is in line with what NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) have found. This brings us closer to the 3.6 °F (2 °C) mark which climate scientists believe will cause a runaway effect on the climate that won't be reversible.

Ahhhhh xD Damn humans! See what have you done!? lol

I don't want to say much but srsly if this remain as it is it will become a big problem in near future...
If the world temperature rises by two degrees, mountain glaciers and rivers will start to disappear and mountainous regions will see more landslides, as the permafrost that held them together melts away.

By 2100, sea levels could rise by a metre, displacing 10% of the world's population. Countries such as the Maldives will be submerged and the Indian subcontinent will be left fighting for survival. People will also die in greater numbers as they struggle with the increasing heat.

The ecosystem will collapse and a third of all life on earth will face extinction. Plant growth will slow, then stop. Plants don't absorb carbon dioxide very well so begin to emit it - making global warming worse.

The world's food centres will become barren and, within 85 years, one third of the planet will be without fresh water.

This is somewhat good article I found if anyone want to know what will happen if temperature keep increasing like 2 degree 3 degree 4 degree with videos lol

    Peace out \o

I agreed with most of your statement except this. I thought the whole equation of photosynthesis was to intake CO2 and release O2? CO2 + H2O + minerals in the soil = > sugar ( a hydrocarbon compound) and O2. Maybe it's only for trees.

Nah nahhh you're right. And it applies to both plants and tree c: The thing that sentence means is when there are less plant and excessive amount of CO2 then that is not good for plant. It will cause such effect. -dattebayo

I can't believe even some of the people that I know don't believe in global warming. This year has been the warmest winter that I can remember. Right now it's like spring and it's raining outside, when we're supposed to be getting snow storms as of a few weeks ago.

I read recently that if a number of countries would cut down on the amount of cattle that they raise by the hoards to slaughter for food, some of the gases that contribute to the warming would be considerably less. I dunno about anyone else, but I would gladly stop eating beef if it does make that big a difference. :<

Not only that, but all references to climate change have been deleted from the White House's website. Also, didn't Valentina Zharkova mentioned we're going under a "mini-ice age" in the next 15 years thus telling us we're in a global cooling period?

That's only going to push an agenda to turn everyone vegan despite how important it is to eat meat.

From what I'm reading, she never used that term and it was added by the journalists covering the study. She did say after that there might be effects from changes in the sun that could affect climate, but that it doesn't mean that all the other studies about climate change are now wrong or that the sun's changes would be so much more of an effect that earth-based climate change.

Cows require more resources than other livestock. People wouldn't have to give up meat entirely, just reduce or change the kinds of meats. Eating insects is one of the more headline-catching suggestions, but switching from beef to poultry would likely have a considerable impact overall if a large enough group did it. The amount of deforestation done for cattle ranching is in part one of the reasons why it's so awful in terms of its effect on the environment and the output of gases into the atmosphere.

Then this guy is either lying to us about a mini-ice age happening or he's just paranoid.

When switching to poultry, we'll currently only be limited to turkey since, as you've previously made a thread about it, there's a fat virus found in selected chicken meat that causes people to never lose weight.
