Where do I catch Houndour in Silver? Because apparently it's on Route 7... so would that mean i'd have to get access to Kanto first?

    Or is that all bull?

Yeah, it's weird, but you need access to Kanto to get Johto Pokemon. Go there at night and walk around for awhile. Eventually, you should run into one.

It's also the same for Murkrow (on the same Route). In my opinion, they should have placed Houndour somewhere in Johto. I had to choose a different Fire pokemon (Magmar) to help me with the Elite Four because of that particular reason. :|

Seriously. Not to mention it doesn't make that much sense on a storyline level, either. I mean, it's like, "Oh, it's three years later, and here's a random abundance of Pokemon that have only been recently discovered!"

What they probably should've done was go about things a la FrLg, where only first gen Pokemon are located in Kanto.

Maybe my rantings make no sense, but the way I see it, the second gen Pokemon are covered in an addendum created in Johto. Why are Pokemon in this addendum wandering around Kanto, and why have these Kanto Pokemon not been archived in the original Pokedex? (Meta explanations I can understand. Other than that, this would take some explaining, wouldn't it?)

Unfortunately, you'll have to get to Kanto.

Oh my goodness. That's exactly what happened. It's really stupid.

Someone should write to Nintendo about that. Seriously.

Yes, I totally agree with you there; it just throws off the whole 'New Pokemon in a whole new different region' thing.

Which is why I think this should happen: The Johto Pokemon should stay in the Jotho region, and the Kanto Pokemon are mainly in Kanto, but there are a few Kanto pokemon in the other region here and there (Due to the fact that there are techinically only 100 Johto pokemon) to help out with building a decent team and such if they ever actually create a remake of Gold and Silver. ^_^

Yeah, but do you think they would take it seriously or just throw it away without reading?
They are obviously-still- being bombarded with G/S/C remake questions.
but i'll take a whack at it, as soon as i found out their yahoo! mail.

    ~ontopic~
They are, like previously said, only in route 7 and are rare.
why they put 2nd season pokemon in the first season and was not found in the 1st season is unknown, but a stupid move for nintendo.
but they possibly put houndour in kanto because its overpowered. you would have no trouble whatsoever with the E4 since houndour can destroy most of them.
i don't know...maybe the wild pokemon were originally all in jhoto but migrated to Kanto.
that is the most logical answer that i can think of.

EDIT: you can get a friend to give you a houndour, but other than that, you are on your own with catching them.

When threads are so old that I'm being quoted as "SilverSmeargleSplatter," that means we definitely don't post in it!
