In terms of my house and who I am living with, I am happy. My parents allowed to move back in with them after graduating from college and it was a godsend due to my chronic illness that was getting worse and worse. I loved living on my own (with my dog) in an apartment, but there are a number of reasons (health related) that being independent/living alone isn't the best for me. They gave my dog and I the master bedroom where I have my own bathroom, microwave, fridge and good running space for my dog (she's pretty small. lol).
BUT there is a problem. And that problem is where we live. We live in South Central US. One of the most regressive, Trump-worshiping states in the union. When Roe vs Wade was struck down, abortion was banned really quickly. And when the Supreme Court comes for all of my other rights, the state's government is going to rejoice in taking them all away. Our governor is a disaster. He does not make the news as much as DeSantis or Abbott, but truthfully he is just terrible as those two.
My family wants out of this state. We have for many years, but things are coming to a breaking point now. The problem is that the state we live in is also one of the lowest cost of living states, so moving is to a better state is challenging. I'm crossing my fingers so hard that we can pull it off, and quickly.
I also do not like the climate here. It's just too darn warm. It can even get up in the 70s regularly in the winter. Last December was so warm. We also have too many severe storms and threats of tornadoes. It stresses me out every year and all of this makes me despise Spring. I want to live somewhere with less natural disaster potential and a true four seasons. My mental health is surprisingly tied to the seasons quite a bit, but NOT in the typical SAD way. I'm more negatively effected by the late autumns, the weak, warm winters and the Springs being miserable and hot than I am by the lack of sun in the winter.
