Pokémon was first introduced to me via VHS tapes. My parents stumbled upon the first few volumes and thought it looked cute enough for their kids to watch. Lo and behold, little Pudding didn't know just how bad she would be obsessed during the next decades of her life.

This led to me wanting to try out the video games that would be advertised on TV. Despite it taking years until our father finally allowed us to acquire one of these games, Emerald specifically, I would cherish it for dear life.

In school classmates played red or blue. Occasionally one classmate had a yellow version (that was me after finding out Yellow had all three starters). Though my first was red and then Yellow with a Magikarp as the picture which for like 4 years made me think it was a fake game that worked properly glitches and all.
