Hey guys! Today I updated my iPod Touch with the newest version, and it deleted all of my music and videos. It warned me that it would do so, and warned me that I needed to transfer some purchased music to my iPod library. I had/have no idea how to do this, so I tried looking it up... with no results. :( ... So I gave up and just decided to go with the update anyway. Well, I re-synced all my music onto it after it was done updating... But is there a way I can recover the music videos I have purchased? Surely I shouldn't have to purchase them AGAIN! Right?! That would be ridiculous. Isn't there a way to recover them...?

    Someone help me pleaseeeee.

A link on Google told me about paretologic's data recovery program. Though I'm not sure if it's one of those programs that shows you the items you want to recover but you have to buy the program first.

    Nnnooooo....
Considering you actively deleted them all and the archive didn't go corrupt or anything like that there's probably no easy way to get them back.

If you purchased the songs/Videos through the iTunes store, you would probably have to contact iTunes support and see if they will allow you to re-download them. (I know you can re-download Apps because there's a record on your account and it recognizes when you've purchased an app before, not sure if it works that way for Music/Videos)

If you purchased the music elsewhere, Napster, Amazon, Etc.. you may have to contact their support staff and see what their policy is about re-downloading purchased items.

Gerri is right; Apple keeps a record of everything you purchase regardless of whether it's a song, movie, app, or anything else. Try contacting their customer support to see if they'll let you redownload it. For any other online retailer, you'll have to see their policies about it.

To transfer stuff from the Touch to your computer: if it doesn't do it when you sync the iPod with the computer, right-click on the iPod in iTunes and click on the option that says something along the lines of "Transfer purchases to iTunes." That will sync any music, video, or app that hasn't been synced already.

I thought that you will still have the files on your computer's Hard Drive, seeing as the files were deleted from you iPod and not iTunes. The exact same thing happened to me and all I did was re-sync my iPod to iTunes and all my songs, apps, photos and videos were recovered.

Search freeware sites for data recovery software that lets you recover data from an ipod.
