4th Gen How do people train their Pokes to level 100?

Yeah, nobody really understands EV training these days. I tried explaining it to one of my friends, and she was like, EV as in the pokemon?

I felt like giving her a good smack across the face the moment she said that. xD

I never even mentioned Eevees... She must have been spacing out, because she wasn't even close to what I was saying. xD

well i wish someone would explain it to me cause i read this whole thread and im still lost in the dark lol

use the term 'effort values' then, all idiots get EV and EEVEE mixed up -.-;

<_<

I should've said effort values, but I didn't think she would say something so... *shudders*

I mean, she has Ruby, Sapphire and Mystery Dungeon, so she's played/trained Pokemon before. I automatically assume that people who have trained pokemon have used the EV method, or at least know how it works. I guess I'm just that way, though. :P

My fist one was a Typhlosion (In my gold...) I will never forget that day when i was a beginner and catching a lv7 and being so happy telling my mum n dad and alos when I would just walk slightly out of a town and get lost.... those were good days lol.

Lucky Egg + Traded + Elite Four.... Works every time XD

Even though we've strayed from the topic a bit, if you're seriously trying to get your Pokemon to level 100, (Though really, with all the online matches rounding your Pokemon off to 50 or 100, I'm less determined this time around. A good moveset is all you need to battle online and stand a chance.) you should just battle the Elite Four over and over...but turn off battle animations. It speeds things up like you wouldn't believe, seeing as the battle pacing is FAR different in D/P than in previous games.

ACtion replay $20 bucks 999 anything and like 95 of all tms and complete pokedex.

Well, now thanks to compettitive wi-fi, you can sort of get away with not training to 100, what with the option to set them all to lvl 100 (or 50). Of course, you should still EV train em' but that can be done before you get to lvl 100, right?

My strategy for leveling up is simple. If the pokemon is pretty weak (lvls 1 - 30), I get a strong pokemon with explosion and go to the Fight Area where wild pokemon are in the 50s. Then I put the weak pokemon at the front of my party and the first move of the battle is to switch the weak pokemon with the strong pokemon that knows explosion. Then I use the movie and the weak pokemon takes all the exp. Once that weak pokemon is strong enough to take on the Elite Four on its own, I train it there.

Don't you have to heal it every time you use it though? That'd take a while.. Stupid Nurse Joy talks too much.

hmm. my first was in red version, my charizard. =D
anyways, we're off topic

i train all my pokemon to level 60 then i go to the elite four over and over,it's pretty easy

(oh, i didnt notice the 3rd page, my post is out of place.)

Anyways, i would have agreed with you about NOBODY understanding/acknoledging EV training, but yesterday one of my friends FINALY understood the idea. he showed me an alakazam that Did in fact have at least 248 evs in speed.. but NOTHING else, and it had a Brave nature =P, He understood EVs, but only used 1/2 of the possible ones, and used an alakazam with a realy bad nature.

Good level to take on this e4: 60 ~ 70

Traning areas:
Level 1-25: EXP SHARE / EV train on weak
25-35: The mansion under Hearthome / EV train
35-45: Iron Island - just get a super effective move to it
45-60 ~ 70: Fight Arena's routes, Stark Mountain etc.

70+, you Have to train at the e4.

Elite 4 again and again and again and again !!!!!!! i started training to level 100 two years ago with my emerald. and now i have a swampert, a milotic, poliwrath, sceptile, dragonite, salamence, charizard, typhlosion that are lv 100.
I have about 20 other pokes that are at lv 80-90.
all are EV trained, coz i like to !!!! but getting them to lv 100 is really hard !!

I have 6 Lvl100 Kyogres 3 Lv100 Ho-Ohs 3 Lv100 Raikous 3 Lv 100 Jirachis a Lv100 Mewtwo a Lv100 Groudon and a Lv100 Blastoise.Lol I'm a hard core trainer though I'm more of a Breeder.Those Pokemon are all Legit for Colloseum and from training don't think I Cheated because where I live you can't buy Ar or GS.Sorry if I Bragged to much.lol

Raising a Pokemon to level 100 is indeed a achievement. But if you don't EV train them properly, they won't reach they're best state. I doubt you did that with your Pokes, I'm much assured that even if they are legendary, I'm sure lesser Pokemon such as Electivire, Magmortar, and Aerodactyl could take all of those down if they were in one team.

Well I still don't really understand Ev and Iv training that much so yeah. But I don't really care much though cause I'm more of a pokemon breeder.

What i do is give the one you are training experience share then keep battling the elite four and above solaceon there is 2 little grils and if you use vs. seeker on them you will battle lv 60 raichu and clefable and i did that multible times and a pokemon i have went from 34 to 77. It's slightly fast and easy.
