There are two types. If you want something like Lightning, you will need CSS and a banner. If it's a banner you want, then you get someone to make for you, but you have to make something CSS related yourself.

Um what is CSS? that's help.

CSS (or Cascading Style Sheets) is a web format that allows the placement of text and pictures in layers rather than the static layout of just just one. My signature is an example. I have a grey background with an image on top and text above that. you have to know a little about using HTML and CSS code to get it to work, however here you have to use [css-div] tags instead of the normal prefixes.

Yeah, I wish I knew CSS......

Gerri the one in your sig who made it? If it was you will you make me one we could work it out what I want in it kk?

While I did make mine, I've helped people in the past, but today most of what I've told people has been consolidated into a nice guide by my friend Virtual Chatot. yoiu can view it here: VC's CSS guide for PC forum use

How do you put the picture in? My sig has what I want, just no picture.

The guide says you have the code for the pic then you add the text somewheree in the code. Is that correct? I can't find any good images.

I got it! Try using google to find something for you.

found a sonic the hedge hog one I'm gonna use. Get a bb code with servimg but I need to know where to add the text?

Experiment a bit, then it'll work.

YankeeX, that CSS is hardly ideal - I suggest you test the signature before use.
    2 things you need:
"float:right" to line up the text with the (huge!) repeated-image block.
You also need to dull down the colours of the text and BG in the sig - they're both bright making it impossible to read without selecting the text.

Also, what is up with that annoying crosshair cursor? It's way too overused and reminds me of the sad day when some guy tried to introduce me to myspace.

    EDIT:
    Try this as a sig:
    PC Family!
    ~Kitsune- Insane Cousin
    shinygoldash- Brother
    legendarytamer- Me-2, Clone
    Heatran- Long-Lost Twins
    Looking for a pair!
    PM me to join me!
All of my PokéPlushies! Check it out!
I know it's not very good, but it's the best I could do without letting that image ruin the text above it.

Just a quick note since my guide was mentioned, it is currently being rewritten to make it an easier read, and I'll also include a few more things~

Well, it isn't hard to make a signature like this - CSS-ized... but meh, I have learned CSS a few years ago - -' Well, the best thing to do is to look at others' signatures, copy them, and experiment with parameters a bit. I volunteer for giving my code to anyone interested ;)

I'm parctising, okay? I never used CSS before, only HTML.

The problem with most people is, they lack common sense and problem solving skills.
    It's sad really...

Oh, tell me about it :(
I think that it's amazing how many people lack this, especially when it comes into the area of computing. If a normal-ish (i.e. no problem-solving skills) person finds a new program, they use their knowledge of other programs to help them. Whereas I, and some other frequent users of computers like to explore everything a program has before even starting properly with it.

Also, the graphics play a big part in the impression of those who have little problem-solving skills when it comes to downloaded programs.

Guys couls somone just help me with a CSS Where do you put the text in the code?

ok here's the code I;m going to use in this example
    Code:
    [PLAIN][div="width: 300px; height: 10px;"][div="padding: 2px 2px 2px 2px; border: dashed 1px #ffffff; font-variant: small-caps; color: #60B530; background-color: #000000;"][/PLAIN][B]Here's where you insert the custom text you want[/B]
    [PLAIN][/div][/div][/PLAIN]
Here's where you insert the custom text you want

Now you can use what ever size you want (within 500x300)
and just so you know I pulled this code (minus the colors) from Virtual Chatot's Guide
