How do you like to play SSBM?

I enjoy just about every level except for Infinite Glacier and Big Blue...anything else is fine with me, although sometimes I'll do something special, like flippers, red shells, and bomb-ombs at Final Destination...it's so frustrating, but really fun...Super Sudden Death at Flat Zone is also really fun...

I try with my strongest unlocked characters and maximized their difficulty with a 5-minute melee. I usually choose Hyrule Temple.

I have this love/hate issue with the items in SSBM... Normally though I have items turned off.

My prefs:

3 stock
No items
Tiny Mode
Max difficulty

In the videogame club I go to with many friends we have the "House Rules" for every game, SSBM is no different, we always play 4 player

15 stock
no items

I Always play as Bowser, and was Undefeated for a long long time, before my best friend who I Tag-Team with beat me in a friendly match, Which didnt bother me that much since as before stated, we normally always Tag-Team, and as a team, we are undefeated, we use Bowser and Sheik as our Combo.

the best way

The best way to play ssbm is 2 min. time, medium items, SD's -2, pause off,and random level

a good way

1 stock, 1 min. time limit, max items. This way it's all about survival. There's not as much fighting because every time you make a move, you risk your one life. especially durng the sudden death part. The max items part is because it's better to throw an item across the level than dodge bombs to get to your opponent. Plus there's always that chance that an evil little bomb might walk into you or fall off something blowing you right off the level.

ack!! fear the double poster! FEAR! anyways can anyone tell me how to defeat event macth 51? its so hard!!! :(

Well, here's how I did it.

I used Jigglypuff! Yes, the pink puffball is easy to knock out, but has the hardest move in the game, Rest. if you time it right, It can decimate the opponents. Straight away, use Rest twice to take out Giga Bowser. Rinse and repeat 3 times. If you're good/lucky you can manage this without losing a life (but be at high damage). Avoid trying Rest on Ganondorf, cos he can easily jump up and negate the attempt. Mewtwo is easier to take out this way, cos he has very little to counter Rest.

Try and avoid the pair, waiting for items to drop down, but you may be waiting a minute or two for something good. Especially, keep an eye out for Mines, Bob-ombs, Pokeballs (essential to watch out for, since both Ganondorf and Mewtwo with go for those ignoring all else, including yourself), and some long range weapons like the Beam Sword or Parasol (good luck getting a Home Run bat, I've never seen one).

Both Ganondorf and Mewtwo have extreme homing sickness (ie they follow you constantly), which makes them pretty stupid. Simply jump over the pair - 3 jumps or more will avoid Ganondorf's jumping attack, so jump 3 times before passing over their heads. Eventually, the items will come so use them!

It's a pretty cheap way, but hey, it worked for me.

When I'm utterly bored with the game (like I am now), I play VS mode usually as Pikachu or Mewtwo and the other three pok?mon as opponents. Only Items are the Pok?Balls at very high frequency. It seriously gets hard to keep track of what pok?mon came out of what pok?ball and who summoned it.

I like to do this on the Pok?mon Stadium stage, but any other reletively small stage works just as well.

i like it on stock mode(not time mode), 3 lifes, lots of bombs, very high item appearence and at Hyrule Temple. I like playing as Roy, Ness or Yoshi.

I didn't know about double posting when I wrote that, so sorry. Now about event match 51. My friend introduced me to a cheap and effective way to beat it. Use Fox. Use his up+B move(his get back move). Start on one side, jump up to hit giga bowser in the head(above mewtwo and gannondorf) from one side of the level to the other. Do that until giga bowser has high damage, then smash him or kill him however you see fit. Once giga bowser is out of the picture, go to one side away from your opponents and use Fox's laser(B move) repeatedly until thier sheilds break(they'll stand there like idiots getting hit and using up thier sheilds). If they don't have enough damage to kill with a smash attack, keep blasting your laser. If they do, smash them(Or use items, that works good too).
I can beat it with Sheik no problem now. That took awhile to accomplish. It really isn't that hard if you understand how they work.

I've been playing SSBM a lot lately. Until a few weeks ago, I was having trouble handling myself at L6 or higher, now I can manage all levels with no problem (though the occasional L9 does give me grief, mostly Captain Falcon).

I'm currently trying to complete Adventure mode on Hard mode - if you do this without using a continue, all the way to the end, you get the Crazy Hand trophy. Speaking of trophies, I've 283 out of 290, so I'm very close to the end of the game itself :-) Found the best person to use was Roy for this - I'm usually a Link player, but Roy can take multiple Kirby's out in the Green Greens stage and even knock out a fresh (0% health)Pikachu in the Pokemon Stadium, all using his Up + B move. So he has a better chance for survival. Closest I've been was up to the Final Destination, although I only had one life and Bowser stomped on me :-(

Been trying to master Pichu at the moment, I can handle him up to L4, but his self-damaging attacks and light body make him easy prey from L5 and upwards (though I can get him up to L8 and still survive, I can't win any games at this level with Pichu - yet).

Anyway, that's what I've been doing on SSBM lately.

I usually fight at the pokemon stadium or fourside as mewtwo or Fox...I've beaten everyone I know who play's SSBM using Fox....Mewtwo is supposedly so great and so hard to get...well, he's okay, but all you really have to do to get him is leave your gamecube on on VS. mode for 20 hours...But Fox always rox! ^^

Uhhh... Shadow? You could beat me even without items. XD
Anyways.... I can beat my friende with 3 lives in 1 minute. Hehe... I only got SSB..... I've played SSBM in Kmart and other stores...

With or without items: Good.

The home run bat could do serious damage.... but it kills them in 1 shot...... But it can miss prteety easily because they could just walkaway from it or dodge it.

Dodgeing skills: GOOD! Very good I'm increadible at it!
Trying to hit them: GOOD!
Trying to get back up: Bad. I sometimes have to use a controller of mine that is broken... I can't even get back up with it. Gosh.

Well I'm really good with same time moves....
Heh the Lightsaver will help,A LOT!

DRAGON_MASTER HATES DRAGONS! (Look at user title)

Does SSBM stand for Super Smash bros.Melle?
If it does Then Of course of I do!!!
It`s one of the best(Kinda old) GC games yet!

Tiny melee with poison mushrooms on very high on a huge level. or on a tiny little platform like get everyone battling on a cloud or that little place on the bottom of hyrule castle. it's kinda cool.
