How do you make friends IRL as an adult?

Seriously, it seems like a huge undertaking. I figured "Oh I can make friends at work." However, "What if they don't like Pokemon??" Yeah, that's a big deal.

HI! I'm Miki. I just recently moved from Los Angeles, CA to Philadelphia, PA. In this move I have been separated from all my Pokemon friends (tear) so I'm here to find more! No, I'm not suggesting we all hang out in real life, but if that's what floats your boat, then yeah let's have a PokeParty.

I've played Pokemon since it's first release in the states, but skipped over the GBA releases as I did not own any system after my Pokemon Yellow GBC broke (R.I.P.) However, my husband is giving me his Leaf Green cartridge and one of my good friends gave me his Ruby as a going-away present. SO, I'll play GBA games soon enough. I'm just grinding my team up in preparation for Pokemon Bank and my reuniting with Reshiram.

Fun fact: A group of my friends performed "Together Forever" at my wedding (hkavshndkfhnalhabhda it was awesome)

Some non-Pokemon related facts about me: I eat a lot. I sleep a lot. I have two cats (Tamago and Waffle). I love Coheed and Cambria, but I usually listen to dance music. Europop is definitely my jam.

Enough about me, how are you guys? (I hope someone actually replies else this question is just going to seem silly and pitifully lonely)

Come to myprofile you will see lol about everybody well take friend reqests but tell them first i learned that the hard way lol!

    Dear the wazzz uupp man,

    FRIEND!

    Sincerely,
    Miki

Also, I'm pretty happy that this board is set up the same way the other forum I'm on is. Makes things easy to navigate. Unlike my sentences.

Haha, I know the feeling. Once I got out of boot camp all my friends left for college and living in the middle of no where doesn't give you many options of where to meet new people.

    Welcome to this place!

welcome to pa, you'll come to hate most of most of these idiots in this state in due time.

    Thank you.
So...no different from any other state? I haven't had much interaction with people outside of customer-employee situations. We've talked to one guy at the comic book store, and that was it.

Yup, sure is. Oh well that's what the internet is for. :D

Precisely why I'm here :D I have experience making friends on line, that's easy (thank you forums).

    ...aaaaw, you played Together Forever at your wedding!? That's undeniably cute.. almost makes me want to consider that for mine whenever it happens. n_n;

Welcome to the forum and it's very good to meet you, Miki! Pretty cool that you've gotten your hands on some of the older Pokemon games and I'm quite certain you'll enjoy them. I loved R/S/E and FR/LG a whole lot; the third generation will probably be my very favorite for a long time to come. :) This community will be perfect for you as someone who's as big a Pokemon fan as you are so crossing my fingers you stick around for a long time. Friends are just around the corner here and you've already met some pretty sweet people so things are progressing along smoothly. Plenty more where that came from, yup.

Stay awesome and stick around for a long while, yes? And any person who owns/loves cats is so very welcome as I'm a huge fan of them. They're adorable and my favorite pets.. I have a gray tabby, though he's mostly an outdoor cat. Anyways, have a blast on PokeCommunity! <3

Ugh I know right? If you like Pokemon it feels like people look down on you because it's a childish thing. But it's funny because Pokemon is slowly bringing out games as time goes on so the fandom of Pokemon is growing larger and larger, so adults are in the mix too! Don't worry, you'll find lots of poke-pals here ;)

    Enjoy~
