Ok, two different opinions... I always said the first one, but recently I thought it looked like the word Executor... any other thoughts?

That's pretty much spot on. It's meant to sound like 'executor' but of course, because it is called 'Exeggutor' they had to play on words and add in the word 'egg'.(EGGS-egg-you-tor)
