How do YOU set up your party?

I usually just choose my favourite Pokemon but I spread out the different types to have a wide range of type advantages overall.

I use:
A Lightning
An Ice
A Dragon
A Dark or Ghost
A Fire or Fighting
A Grass or Water

I like to keep a diverse team so I usually go with different types of pokemon...I've never had two grass or two flying in my pack. But my favorites in the game I'm running so far are fire, rock, water, flying, electric, and ghost. They're basic types but they make a pretty tough team when raised long enough. Another thing my team requires is a balanced experience level. I don't like having one pokemon on level 20 and the other on level 5.. It's bad when you need a backup pokemon if your star faints. :/ So I train all of them equally. It slows down the evolution process but it definitly pays off when facing difficult opponents.
