How much money does Elite Four and Gym Leaders make?

I think my Platinum is glitched or something.....well, before I restarted, anyway.

Because I gained no money from beating the Elite 4!

It musta been because of the incident in Bangkok....
 
I always thought it was a side thing. You don't get payed for it you just get the title. If gym leaders were real I could see them making money off endorsements and commercials, not the job itself.
 
I dont think the gym leaders have a boss or anything to give them money, because if you remember in the anime, the pewter city gym leader was continuously being rotated to brock, his mom, and flint, obviously no boss would want to have that much to deal with
 
Gym Leaders and Elite 4 are just title for them. They do have other things/jobs to do.

So the money that they are giving out are maybe just they working salary.
 
I guess its pretty much like brock. Maybe during being a Gym leader in the past he made and sold Pokemon food on the side.
 
They stand all day long. They never sit. They're nearly indestructable. This meaning they're obviously robots and thus make no money. :)
 
They do other jobs, like cleaning/selling stuff/helping out at the local school. And beating other trainers obviously :-) Maybe through competitions like the tournaments in the anime.
 
I personally think that the Elite four make their income, at least in the anime, from magazine contracts, television contracts and money from trainers themselves. This is shown whenever they battle anyone - the stands are packed and it's being showed live on TV. I would guess that tickets are being sold and they'll get a profit. In the games, their only way of income is through trainer losses.
 
In the manga Gymleaders get paid a wage by the Pokémon Company (or a similar name).
But I don't think they earn that money just by fighting other trainers. And it's probably not enough to live, seeing as a lot of gymleaders have side-jobs. Like Roxanne who teaches at the Trainer School and others mentioned earlier.
They're most likely paid to keep their gym in order, with little extra's.

I don't know about the E4, since it's only in the game that you have to battle them.
In the anime and manga, they're scattered throughout the regions... But they have obviously a lot of say in the bussiness of the Pokémon World. Seeing how Lance tries to tackle Team Rocket, Team Aqua and Team Magma.
