How Often Do You Scan Your Computer For Malware?

I've had viruses in the past on another computer but ever since then I hadn't really... installed any sort of virus protection? I mean I'm not even sure if I HAVE virus protection enabled or not, and I stay out from what Google says is dangerous and I only download things that have lots of things saying it's okay (even though it probably isn't, but still, lots of testimonies can be good I guess??)

But yeah I really don't care thaaat much plus I have nothing to hide on my computer if there is spyware because I don't do banking, nor save passwords here, nor take revealing photos, nor watch/download porn, so I'm good in most cases. :)

I'd like to see a hacker or a piece of malware try to download over 500 GB worth of pornography off my hard drive >_>

Uhh, basically never! I wasn't aware that this was something you were meant to do, I assumed it took care of it for you... I guess it's time to start then! *crosses fingers*

A true gentleman keeps on top of his computer, and scans it once a week at the minimum. That's all it needs. However, I don't even really need to because if their is a problem the tech's at the building we call school just re-image it.

I scan it once a week, just to be sure. I mean a security program is obviously supposed to keep you safe, but its never wrong to be extra-safe.

If I'm suspicious of any type of Malware or virus, I'll run a scan immediately. However, I don't scan my computer as much as I should. I'd say once a month or so..

Very rarely. Last time I did it, it was after a year and it showed nothing.

Avast has a nifty extension for all commonly used browsers which blocks malicious sites. Very helpful when browsing through torrent sites.

Then I have Malwarebytes, but I seldom use it, and it's not really useful because the free version doesn't run in the background and thus doesn't intercept malware.

Keep note that antivirus programs tend to be overzealous and show lots of false positives. This happens a lot with NoCD cracks and certain utilities which make use of suspicious, albeit harmless, code. Usually, an infected executable is pretty obvious to spot.

I usually scan my computer at least once a month, or when it crosses my mind. I've never really had a virus or a worm or anything of that nature (besides a heuristic worm-virus-thing I managed to destroy before it could damage my computer), so I'm not that concerned about scanning. But yeah, for protective reasons, I try to do it at least once a month.

I don't scan too often. I'm a little wary of the sites I go to and I'm generally careful.
