How on earth did you get a second season?

LOST. How the HELL did that show get a second season?
Complete and utter crap, if you ask me.

I understand where you're coming from. You need to watch all of the episodes close together, and really pay attention to understand everything. Though it is one of my favorite shows.

I wonder this sort of thing about South Park, It is truly the worst show on the planet, and there is nothing funny about it at all, and every episode is the same:
Cartman makes fun of Kyle for been a Jew
Kyle responds by calling Cartman Fat
Kenny Dies
Cartman makes fun of Kyle for been a Jew again
Kyle responds by calling Cartman Fat again
End of episode

I truly don't know why any TV station would want to pay the creators money to show this rubbish.

I think that South Park has its moments, and I don't think I've seen the Kenny bit in the last couple of seasons, though I only watch it occasionally. :\

Though I can't really think of any shows in particular to add...

UK residents may know about this one. "Coming of Age" on BBC3. It's just awful. It's crude beyond being funny and the script is just terrible. The actors are alright and they boost it up a little, but how has it got a 2nd series?
What? The actors are what make the show bad. Well, and the writing. And the sex humour that just makes you cringe. Actually, basically everything about it is bad. It's identical to Two Pints, but with teenagers. The list goes on.

Also, to answer the OP, the producers decide they don't want to stop making money, and they can't be bothered pitching a brand new idea, and thus a new series is born.

Good to see another Scot here... there's like 3 of us now!

I actually think Anabel Barnston is quite a good actress. She performed well in the 2 episodes of The Inbetweeners that she was in (which by the way is a genius sitcom - looking forward to Series 3). Also Ellen Thomas, who plays the principle, is great in her role as she seems to charactarise all the teenage ideas of what a principle whould be like (scary and commanding but slightly sexy at the same time - not my opinion but what she represents). She was also brilliant in the Doctor Who episodes "Girl In The Fireplace" and "Planet Of The Dead" where she showcases her ability to be mysterious and haunting as an actress in her roles. The other cast members I admit are not as talented.

As for 2 Pints of Lager And A Packet of Crisps, I loved that sitcom. I loved it, as in I don't love it any more. The series was thoroughly funny with great scripts and cast and opitimised the sort of laddish, louty proportion of the people of Manchester. It was brilliant until Ralf Little left the series (to do ASDA commercials!) and so they had to kill off my favourite character; Johnny. They shouldn't have carried on. I can't bear to watch any of the last few series. The humour has gone down hill and just consists of jokes related to sex, the human anatomy and faeces (sometimes all at once). The worst things are the Musical specials. Good old 2 Pints just had one musical special, which was genuinly funny. Since then they seem to use it all the time to try and entertain but it dosn't work and you'll notice they often resort to singing songs from the original musical special. Then there was the crossover episode between 2 Pints and Coming of Age which I HATED HATED HATED. I've given up on 2 pints now. Luckily, they show the old episodes on Dave (IMO Best... channel... ever!).
