I work in marketing where we use analytics that are kind of crucial to understanding how people interact with the site, where they go to, what content they don't even get to on the page before bouncing, etc. Understanding the behavior of a visitor is what I see as the best tool that data collection does because it can help improve content on the sites you go to and get the business or person who created something a better understanding of what they are doing right in their metrics and collected data in visual form. It helps them know what is working and what isn't.
