buying box and get the ex cards i missed?

If you're looking to specifically collect the ex Pokemon, then you would want to focus on buying singles. If you're looking to get an entire set and are still lacking a bunch of commons and uncommons from a set, that's when you'd buy booster boxes.

Then your best bet is to buy singles. I did answer that in my other post in this thread, if you read it thoroughly instead of just skimming it.
