How to break this theoretical metagame?

    Hi pokecommunity
Let's say there exists a metagame, which currently doesn't have a name. This game is similar to Ubers but without any of its standard rules. This means (although it's a bad idea), you can have a team of 6 Mega Rayquazas all carrying swagger, or a recover-PPberry-recycle Lugia. The twist is out of your six pokemon, you can choose one of them to carry any 4 moves in existence, not just what they can legally learn. What set would you choose, to threaten this metagame the most?

I can't really think of one, maybe baton pass Darkrai, (yes, really unreliable) or scald Lugia.

We can give way to combinations by creating a variation of this metagame where x pokemon have the twist. Although it's better to actually play and then determine what works really well, does anyone have ideas?

Why am I asking this? I'm just curious. Just to let you know, i'm really bad at pokemon, as I have no idea what KOs what, etc, so I can't really play. (But I try)

EDIT: Why I always forget to bold the title

Moving this to BTB since it's related to competitive battling.

Also what you're describing sounds kind of like the Hackmons meta.

Unfortunately Wyn you can never really break the meta in competitive games. You can in your own way by bringing things that counter popular meta picks, but the meta will always be a thing. People like comfort and ease of use and what a meta does is give people a guideline. Pokemon is a lot like League of Legends in that a large majority of the meta is based on team compositions, match ups, and popularity. So say you're new to ladder and you want to learn OU. You'll find 8-10 pokemon used in just about every match. Now you can think about what counters those pokemon but then you need to think about what counters your counters.

Example: Ferrothorn and Scizor are popular steel types that can wreck your team. (Scizor in particular) Magnezone is excellent for trapping and eliminating them but has its fair share of weakness's. So you pair it with something that resists it's weakness's (Fire,Fighting,Ground).

Personally I'm working on a Magnezone, Dragalge, Landorus-T core as Magnezone traps and kills Steel types (Barring Excadrill) Dragalge can eat fighting and fire type moves and counters the ever annoying clefable and Landorus provides a ground immunity that both the previous pokemon appreciate. However even if this core proves good (which I'm not too sure of being fairly new to this myself) people probably won't stop running Ferrothorn etc. Now if it was really good even "meta breaking" it would simply become the new meta and the cycle starts over again. I know this was pretty long winded but I hope it helped.

EDIT: So I realize you specifically meant the meta you were speaking about though I'll keep what I previously posted. If the meta in question is 6 megarayquazas use as much Ice as possible. Rayquaze being dragon/flying is 4x weak to ice so your best bet is that. As for a endless stall lugia mega gengar with perish song. You trap lugia perish song and switch out on the turn the timer hits 0.
