How to 'get back into' a game?

I always have this problem, if i forget to save a game for a long time and something happens like the game comes out the DS or the DS breaks and the whole few hours in which i have been playing are wasted
For example i was playing pokemon white when i saved just outside N's castle, from there i proceeded to catch Zekrom, beat N and Ghensis (wrong spelling i think), and then when the credits came, over an hour after i had last saved the game, my game decided to stall and when i went back onto it, it took me to the start of N's castle again :(
So all the time i sent was a waste.
I can seem to find the motivation to get back into the game and do what i had just spent the last hour trying to do... Any help and tips on how to do this?

Ah, this happened to me, too! Right when I defeated Lenora, the normal type gym leader, I forgot to save and then my DS froze. So I turn on my DS, and I have to fight her again (and she was a lot more tougher this time, guess I was more frustrated). Same happened when I was in the middle of the Ghetsis battle, so I had to beat N again!

I think you need to just leave the game for a bit, sort of calm down, and when you get bored one day, hey presto, pick up your DS and you're sorted! That's what I tend to do. xD

Exactly. That's also happened to me, but in a yugioh game (I think!). I beat like four really challenging opponents in a row, and then I closed my DS and went for a snack. I came back, opened the DS...and you can imagine what happened.

Just like Virgilia said, don't try to do it all over again immeadietly. You'll get way too frustrated. Play another game, or just go for a walk--do anything to get the incident off your mind, and then you can try again (You don't even have to wait a day!). Another tactic I sometimes use (though not just applicable to videogames, just generally whenever I lose some data) is that I do some easier activity to get myself on a roll, and then try again.

Thats happened to me on many games. Just think of it as a chance to get your team stronger before you go back in. You'll get through it faster. And you'll know what they're gonna do, so try and think of what might happen next in the story line. That should be motivation.

I din't think this ever happened to me on Pokémon, but it did on KH: 365/2 Days. Hard.
I was determined to actually get around to beating it, so I spent the entire day playing it (without saving for Arceus knows what reason). Then suddenly, Low Power! I shut the DSi to save power whilst I run for my charger, plug it in, light goes blue, open the lid aaaaaaand; nothing, nada, nil-pois. All the lights on the DS claim that it is on, but it does nothing. I basically sat there, rage building for about 5 minutes before turning it off.
I haven't played it again since then.

Agreeing with tente2 and Virgilia here. I think you should take a break from the game, then come back to it when you're ready.
