I am not entirely sure but I think it is L + R + Start + Select.

Yeh. But you cant Soft Reset if you're trying to GTS Clone.

Just a sort of add-on question to the original post, what about Select + Start + A + B?? I've heard that works too, but I haven't been able to try it out. I know it works on my Game Boy Micro...

If your playing a gba game on ds it still works that way.

Right. Thanks for the detail you two! ^_^If your playing a gba game on ds it still works that way.
One example is that it can be applied to shiny hunting. Resetting the game enough times to battle a stationary Pokemon that then alters the chances by resetting of it being shiny or not.So what exactly does soft resetting do? And how would you apply it?

should be able to.
I set my ds to auto start the ds cart to save on the whole selecting cart etc etc.
but the 1/8140 or wateva it is chance of getting a shiny pokemon without chaining makes a whole lot of resets and unhealthy wear and tear on ure ds
