how to tell card sets?

    how can you tell cards from different sets? the back are all the same? and from what i can see there is nothing on the front to determine. on some sets like base set 2 they have the 2 symbol on them, but looking at sets like majestic dawn and newer sets i cant see a way of telling.

    For newer sets, it got moved next to the rarity symbol in the lower right corner. I think the switch happened between Neo Destiny and Expedition, back in 2002 or so. Before then, it was just below the picture and to the right.
