    1.0 Introduction

    Well, hi there!

If you're reading this, congratulations! You've got a copy of Pokemon Platinum! Now the question is, how do I get online like everyone else? I know your excited and anxious to trade, battle, and do other cool stuff with friends and people on this board! So, let's get started.

2.0 Getting your Pal Pad, and how to use it

Well it's simple, but before I tell you how, you're going to need what's called a Pal Pad. This is needed to find out your Friend Code (FC), and to add other people's Friend Codes. Friend codes are unique to everyone else's, and you NEED to know yours and your buddies' to meet them on Wi-Fi connection to do things. In other words, you cannot use Wi-Fi in Pokemon Platinum without this!

How do you get this Pal Pad you ask? Well, it's simple. First, in-game, you must make your way to Oreburgh City. Then, you must challenge and defeat that town's Gym Leader, Roark. After that, head over to the Pokemon Center. Once inside take the escalator to the right down to the basement. After talking to the girl down there, not the ones behind the desks, she'll give you your very own Pal Pad!

To find out YOUR FC, simple open your Pal Pad in the Key Items section of you bag, and choose '(Your Name)'s Friend Code'. I suggest you put it in you GameFAQs signature of quote. To add someone's FC, simply open your Pal Pad, and chose 'Register Friend Code'. Input their name, then their FC. Easy!

    6. If you're at a Hotspot listed from Nintendo.com, at least one connection that comes up will have a Blue unlocked lock next to the name. If it's Red, you'll need to use a WEP Key
