It is kind of stupid to think that Pikachu will live forever but if he die, would Ash get a new pikachu? OR pikachu has babies.,., :embarrass

Pikachu will never die on the show. If it were real, then I could see Ash and Pikachu being together for a long time after that.

I don't really want to think of Pikachu dying, but the most probable ideas are either old age, or in risking/sacrificing his life for another person/Pokemon/Ash (most likely). That would only happen in a movie, though.

I'm sure Pikachu has plenty of years left in it's life yet ;) Though if Pikachu ever did die on the show (*So very very not likely*) that would be the most saddest emotional thing I would ever watch as his bond with Ash is so strong and I can see Ash being extremly upset over it.

    it did lol

and remember the 1st hoeon episode pikachu almost died of and electric overload an ash was crying in the ship ahahahahahahhahahahahaha

I'd party when pikachu dies. Pikachu is the stupidist, dummest, and fattest thing ever. it's an insult to al rodents. And rodents are cool. Because of pikachu almost everyone hates mice. I hope pikachu to die.... a slow and painful and violent death. I'd have a big party then!

you're a jerk dude. People always hated mice. If anything, Pikachu does the exact opposite of what you say it does. It makes rodents seem cooler.

you probably shouldn't diss the figure head of pokemon like that on a pokemon page. you've already accumulated a lot of bad rep. :\

Of course Pikachu will die, but not in the show. I believe Pokemon would live about as long as humans, depending on their level of happiness, and they may very well both die around the same time. Pokachu probably will mate and have lots of little Pichus, but Ash will probably never get another one.

Dude, we're talking anime that was generally targeted at little kids but turned out to be rather popular with older kids. There would be no death or, well, making-love-like things in this kind of anime.

Besides, Pokemon do die, but it's highly unlikely there will be enough seasons to kill Pikachu of old age.

I don't think any other method could really be applied in this anime.

BirdLord, really. Pikachu has made rodents much, much cooler. It's cool and cute. Same with any other rodent-y Pokemon.

(Oh why don't they bring out a guinea pig Pokemon??? They're so sweet [I have two of my own, three in the house.])

    I also know that it is highly unlikely that Pikachu would die on the show. If he were to, though, I think sacrificing himself would be the only way to go. XD; A noble death would be in keeping with the whole spirit of Pok?mon. Though, of course, death itself probably isn't in keeping with it, especially since they even needed to unfreeze a Pok?mon that was frozen for sixty years or something and have it still be alive. o.o Dude, that's impossible. XD;

I'll say Pikachu's a very cute pokemon, but it has no strength at all!!!
But one thing puzzles me : How does Pikachu defeat Brock's Onix in the first ever gym battle? I mean, Onix is supposed to have no weakness against Pikachu!

    OK, I didn't watch the anime, that's why I asked!:@
I only saw Pikachu shocking Onix in the later stages when Ash goes to the Pokemon League. Then they showed Pikachu Shocking Onix, that's why I asked!

I like pikachu and for some reason see pokemon living a lot longer then people. I see pikachu surviving much longer after ash's death. Not only does Ash grow and change over his pokemon journey, so does pikachu. Pikachu becomes wiser, just as ash does. I see pikachu moving on without ash, but always remembering him. Maybe ash even sacrifes himself to save pikachu. But I see pikachu continueing on its journey well after ash is gone, when furture trainers are on their journey, in this endless circle of life in the pokemon world. Pikachu and ash are so close, you could probally see some of ash's spirt in pikachu. Well, anyway if either was to die, I would surely let out a huge PSY....... followed by a respectful duck...

All things considered, I'm pretty sure a Pokemon's life span varies between creatures like real animals. I can't see Pikachu living longer than Ash. It is a rodent, after all. I'm not saying Pikachu (plural) should die when they hit three years (otherwise, I think Ash's would've been gone by now), but living 60 years or so is unrealistic, even for Pokemon.

Well of course Pikachu would day some day. I mean why else would Lavender Town have the gravesite? But I dont think it would be in the show. More like a movie or something.

I think pok?mon would be like animals and die at different times which would vary by species. And Maybe ash would go on but without getting another pikachu.
