    Hi! I started playing Pokemon as a kid with Pokemon Leafgreen, and now, I'm planning on making some games of my own. And maybe finishing the romhack I started a few months ago. Have the people here made hacktopls for the newer games yet?

    Awesome that you started with Leafgreen! that way you actually started with kanto! Did you play other games as well? What are some of you favourite pokémon?

    Cant answer you if people made hacks for the newer games yet. I do know people are also making Fangames, using Essential packs. So these games are looking crispy clean as wel most of the time.

    I can recommend you to check out the different sections of this forum! besides Sun& Moon and Romhacks, we have tons of different sections, about almost every entertainment subject :)

    jappo has already pointed you to some great areas, the Beginner's Lounge actually has a pinned thread towards the top titled Getting Started so you can look at that if you're new to ROM hacking. I'm sure it'll help out a bit. Unfortunately I don't hack games so I can't help out much personally. =(

    FRLG are amazing though. Training my team has never been as fun as it was with the VS Seeker from these games. I'd spam it to get my Pokémon to lv. 100 for hours on the Sevii Islands lol. Definitely one of the most fun and fluid Pokémon games out there.
