Sorry about the gap between updates! Was grinding for a while. Beat the vermillion gym, got through rock tunnel without fetching flash, made it to lavender town and gave the rest of my party names.

So, Finnick's journey starts here, and, because of my District's restrictions, I went with Mudkip as my starter. A girl, for once, so I named her Cresta, after Annie Cresta.

Stone Badge

Party: Cresta Lv. 14

I think I prefer to have a smaller but stronger party rather than catching everything suitable for my District (which, admittedly isn't a lot at this point anyway), so by the first gym, It's still just Cresta with Finnick. I figure with the type advantage, she'll be fine on her own here, so we took on Roxanne at level 14. As expected, it wasn't a problem at all, and we left the Gym near unscathed, with a shiny new Stone Badge.

Granite Cave

I refuse to teach my Pokemon Flash, so I just spent a while bumping into walls in Granite Cave. I did find Steven.

Caught a Sableye! Named her Mephala, after one of the Daedric Princes in the Elder Scrolls. I was going to do all Hunger Games-related names, but there aren't a lot of known District 4 characters (none that fit a Sableye, anyway).

Knuckle Badge

Party: Cresta Lv. 18, Mephala Lv. 17

Didn't see myself finding any more suitable Pokemon anytime soon, so I went ahead and challenged Brawly after leveling up Mephala a bit. Guess she's a bit overleveled, as she took out all three of his Pokemon alone.

Had a close call with Mephala after she got poisoned by a Tentacool at the Slateport beach. :x Not much else happened here.

Rival battle on route 110, Wally battle at Mauville. Got my Mach bike.

Dynamo Badge

Party: Cresta Lv. 27, Mephala Lv. 28

This battle was more challenging than the previous ones - Cresta mostly sat this one out as she's at a bit of a disadvantage here, but Mephala managed.

Aand with that, I think I'm done for the night.

Been spending too much time being picky about a new Pokemon, so by the time I got to Lavaridge, it's still just the two. Challenged Flannery as soon as I got there - Torkoal gave me a bit of trouble but it wasn't too bad.

Team's getting a little lonely, and being desperate for a new Pokemon I decided to go fishing and caught a Goldeen - Maris. I'm still using the Old Rod, so it's a Goldeen or Magikarp. And since I'm not evolving Pokemon, Goldeen > Magikarp.

Balance Badge

Prettty close to game over here, but everyone made it out alive.

Side note, I am pleasantly surprised with Maris - course she's not amazing but she can hold her own in most battles and is doing a lot better than I expected.

With daddy's badge, I can surf now - I don't use HM Slaves, so I'll be surfing on the back of a goldfish. First priority, get my Good Rod on Route 118, so I can catch more than Goldeens and Magikarps.

Got a Castform at the Weather Institute - obviously not gonna use that but I needed Team Aqua off the bridge. Rival battle at the end of the bridge, then she gave me Fly!.. now I gotta catch a bird to teach it to.

But first, I go Absol hunting in Route 120.

7 years later...

Finally, a boy joins the team. I named him Hades, the god of the underworld in Greek mythology.

I had hoped I would have more options by the time I got Fly, but with the current restrictions I have, it seems like the only Pokemon I can catch for the job is a Wingull. I caught a boy and named him Irving, but he didn't make it - died during the training.

I don't think another Wingull is gonna cut it so I'm not gonna bother with it - my next challenge is Winona and I think I'll ally with her after, just for the sake of having a decent Flying-type on my team. I'm thinking of going back to that route full of soot for a Skarmory.

Update #1

Starter: (Vayne) Snivy
Recieved Snivy from Prof. Oak and did his stupid parcel mission. I always thought it was dumb. Either way i finished it. Oh! and i destroyed Gary's Torchic with ease. Continuing from there i went straight to the Pokemart and bought some potions, antidotes and paralyze heals. Then went to route 22 after training my Snivy to level 11. Destroyed Gary's Starly and Torchic with only Snivy. Afterwards yatta yatta went through viridian forest and then went to the gym to face brock.

This pokemon battle was a breeze considering his Riolu was only level 10 whereas my Snivy was level 15. So yeah won that.

Defeated him at the cost of many potions. NOT COOL BROCK!

After that went to Mt. Moon and caught a Timburr cause i allied myself with Fighting.
And caught an Onix cause he is Rock/Ground and he's a godly tank. And my Snivy evolved!

[Update #2]

1. Since the last update, I first went up to the nugget bridge and encountered my rival. Being a dick as he always is, i accepted his challenge. I absolutely destroyed him. After complaining that he lost he gave me the 'fame checker'. which i really don't give a hoot about and then he left.
2. After hitting the pokemon center, I continued onto the nugget bridge and defeated all that opposed me. =3
3. After getting the S.S. Anne ticket i went on to fight the ceruleon gym leader. Which to my surprise was Lt. Surge. Defeated him and the trainers in his gym with only Lash (Onix).
4. After that I felt like my party could use another member. So i went to the grass and caught a Lotad. Named him Bullocks. Which i trained and he evolved at level 14. I kept training him and stopped at level 18.
