Hurricane Discussion

Well...I've been watching the news and some how it's acutally tu rned WAY to the west and has a strong chance of hitting texas now.

i live in florida. we didnt have to evacuate but we might....

I think we are going to get a one two punch... I feel soooo sorry... =(

I know someone who lives in the area which is going to be affected by Hurricane Ivan...luckily, they're not in the most-affected area. My thoughts are with her and everyone in the path of the hurricane. :(

Although i am thankful that the hurricane will not pass over central florida again (my sister lives near orlando, and got hit twice (Charley & Frances), I feel really sorry for the people who will be affected
I hope everyone on Ivan's path will be ok and out of harm's way -be safe everyone :)

Well, with the arrival of Hurricane Jeanne - set for Florida - it makes you wonder how global warming has affected this all. Changing weather patterns, everything. Well, so far 12 people have died in Alabama alone, and 8000 people "officially" have lost power, although I believe it'll be much more. Some people won't even leave their homes because they wont be able to bring their pets... but oher shelters have allowed pets, so that's OK I suppose.

yeah, exactly..and still bush wont agree to the kyoto agreement to cut down on greenhouse gases..

>< The hurricane is on top of me (not literally) right now..so if I leave suddenly, that means my power's gone out ><;;

Just got back home to find no damage done to my house, just some debri from pecan trees and no power till about 4:00 pm today.

Such a relief to know nothing was damaged.

(P.S. Located in the Mobile/Baldwin County area)

I live in louisiana and hurricane Ivan just missed us..i thougt we were gunna get hit..

I got hit.

TD Ivan came straight through here. It was windy like crazy and it rained for hours. Luckily, nothing was damaged nor did we lose any power (close call).

Tropical Depressions is nothing... compared to Tropical Storm Isabel and Tropical Storm Floyd... they did the most damage in New Jersey. =p..

I'm not affected, but it seems just pretty weird. I haven't seen something like such a sequel of hurricanes before.

The hurricane's aren't actually in UK news now. All that's in that now is the House of Commons raid and Batman on Buckingham Palace (that was funny - you really needed to see that... o.o) Have they died down or something, as everyone on opposite shores of the pond are kinda oblivious to what's happening. :/

Jeanne did not do much to me..... but I got no School, yay!
(I live in Tampa, FL.)

Well, on a slightly lesser note, Hurricane Karl (I believe that's what it's name is) rampaged through the Shetland Islands off the coast of Scotland. And they say that Florida gets all the hurricanes XD But... yeah... a hurricane along Europe, seems a bit weird to me. :/
