Issue: I am having this issue again!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know why nobody responded to the last time I posted this!!!!!!!! bug AGAIN!!!!!!!! I mark a forum read and I come back later and there has been no change and the topics that were marked read are unmarked read, even though there was no change, they claim to be new posts even though there isn't!!!!!!! I just marked the same forum read six times!!!!!! and every time I return they are all unmarked read!!!!!!!!!!!


Someone better deal with this and respond this time!!!!!!! you all left me in the dust last time i had this problem and left it a big fat 0 replies!!!! someone better respond this time and tell me what is going on and fix this!!!!!!!!!!!!!

0 replies probably meant that A) Nobody else knew the problem, and/or B) that they were waiting for somebody else to post the solution.

Either way, getting angry and stuff like that isn't doing you any favours. In fact, typing the way you do is probably going to make people avoid you even more.

Try being courteous and friendly, life's too short to get so angry over a minor forum bug.

I'm not mad at the bug, I am mad that nobody responded or is doing anything about it.... and just for the record just had to do it a 7th time now!!!

No offense intended, but you seem to have had trouble with other forum functions too, so perhaps you're doing something wrong?

You had trouble figuring out how to display your age too, so I don't think it's a forum "bug".

Either way, it's not their responsibility to make sure your set-up is working exactly how you'd like. What you're doing here is asking for people's help.

And if you can't figure it out, then move on, do something else and forget about it. Is it really the most important thing in the world?

But my guess is that some edited their post and it made the forum mark something as an unread post. Though it could be something to do with your browsing data, so clear it and see if it happens again.

You are aware that when you make a forum read, if someone posts a new reply after you mark the forum read, it will mark it as being unread since there is a new post waiting for you to read, yes? Has it ever occurred to you that PC is a very active forum, and there's always going to be a new post waiting for you when you log off and log back on later on through the day?

That being said, I'm going to ask you to try to refrain from posting so many threads in CQ&F. Many of your technical problems lie between your keyboard and your chair, and blaming it on the forum is something that you shouldn't be doing, as your pushing more important - more justified - bug reports and suggestions down the forum and out of immediate view, that are more important than your ignorance on forum functions and the way computer programs work.

But my guess is that some edited their post and it made the forum mark something as an unread post. Though it could be something to do with your browsing data, so clear it and see if it happens again.

Did you even try that? If you did, good! You're actively trying to solve the issue at hand! Also, if you did, then what effect did it have? If nothing changed, I too would think that people are editing their posts and the forum then thinks you haven't read them. In which case I don't think much can be done about your "problem" here.

are you actually logging off when you leave? If not, try to and see what happens.

It is likely a cookie issue so do the normal log off, clear all cookies, browser cache and close all browser windows.

reboot if desired.

Open a browser and log back in. browse to thread, mark as read. log out. go outside and do whatever for how ever long you want. come back, log back in to PC and see if it still shows as read (IF there are no new posts / replies in the thread in question)

If that doesn't work, dunno what to tell ya.. its not the EOTW if your threads aren't marked "read" (I myself NEVER use this feature) and things will go on, your posts will post, new replies will still show in the threadview, and so on.

I only use it in the Pokemon Trivia section, because I play 'Corrupt A Wish [Pokemon Edition]' a lot and I would like to know when if there is possibly a response, because I just LOVE the corrupt a wish game...

You could always subscribe to the thread and it will tell you when the thread has a new response. If you look in the right section in your User CP, of course.

If you have a smartphone, you can set it up to receive push notifications for email. That way can do what Lightning suggested and have it send you emails directly to your phone. Kinda like getting a text message.
