    Shiny Pokemon. Everybody wants them, but they are SO HARD TO FIND! Even me. I first knew about them when they first debuted in Pokemon Gold and Silver with the Red Gyarados and all the Pokemon in the games have Shiny counterparts in the wild. If you can find them. Even though you catch the Red Gyarados anyway, I never came across a legit Shiny Pokemon for years!

    I did actually cross paths with a Shiny Pokemon in Pokemon Sapphire. I came across a Shiny Shuppet and it used Curse to hurt my Pokemon and itself, but it helped me since it got rid of a good chunk of his HP. I was just about to let loose a minor attack to get it down to the Red when the stupid thing used Curse again and killed itself!! That damn Shuppet robbed me my first real chance of getting a legit, non-hacked Shiny Pokemon!!

    That haunted me for years after that. But fate gave me another chance just a few days ago. I was playing Pokemon Diamond and was hunting for Pokemon using the Poke Radar. I was trying to find a Mareep at the Valley Windworks when I began to come across Buziels by the dozen. Trying to find a Pokemon with the Poke Radar takes patience and while I was trying to find a Mareep, I found something much etter.

    I came across a Shiny Buziel. This one had a paler color than a regular Buziel and this one was at Lv. 7. Flashbacks of that damn Shuppet came through my mind, but I reached for a Dive Ball and tossed it. Since it was really low leveled and Dive Balls work great on water Pokemon, I caught that Buziel without any hassle.

    That Buziel is the FIRST EVER Shiny I have gotten by not hacking. The Red Gyarados doesn't count because you catch that through the storyline. It's more satisfying to catch a Shiny by just trying to find it in the wild.
     
    Congratulations! I remember the first Shiny I ever came across was a yellow Magikarp back in FireRed and I failed to catch it. Over time though I ran into a fair share of other shinies, luckily.

    Good luck with your very first shiny, Buizel. Oh, and a little tip, have a Pikachu in front of your team when you start chaining for Mareep again. It's ability, Static, will increase your chances of finding one.

    I already got that Mareep after I stored that Shiny Buziel I got. It appeared minutes afterwards. It was low leveled and I caught a few with some Nest Balls.
     
    The first shiny I ever caught other than the Red Gyarados game was a shiny Floatzel :D I was looking for a Ditto at the time using the Poke Radar o3o

    I also found a shiny Zubat in Gold a long time ago, but fled from it to check if it were shiny or not XD

    Not including red gyarados.

    Then.. two ponyta's and a spearow xD

    That Red Gyarados is usually the first Shiny Pokemon people get. But like I said, it's more rewarding to get one from the Wild itself since their appearence rate is so tiny.
     
    Nicely done, everyone remembers their first shiny, i'm sure you'll be no exception :).

    My first was a Marill in Pokemon Sapphire. :P
     
    Ah I remember my first shiny...a lunatone i named it miracle because I was just talking about shinies and it seemed liek a miracle. thanks to pal park i now have it with my HG
     
    awesome i caught a shiny ponyta in pearl before and that the only one I ever caught bwt if you want to cheak out my pokemon silver walkthrough I just uploaded a new part heres the link
     
    When I started playing pokemon in 2000 I never saw or had a shiny intil a trade for an aipom for a registeel came along on Gts in 2007 the registeel came to me and even better it was shiny ever since then ive become the shiny master
