I dare you to...(OU RMT)

Football is on so I'll just give a quick suggestion. Maybe the reason Infernape is doing little for you is because it it running Mach Punch instead of a Fire STAB. It's really useful for hitting stuff like Rotom for much more consistent damage, not to mention Celebi and Cresselia. Hitting ScarfTran is nice, but I've never been in a situation (as an avid fan of SD Ape) where I needed it to win the battle or anything.

If I do not use Mach Punch, Swords Dance Lucario can literally 6-0 me with Stealth Rock up, and if both Slowbro and Salamence have taken any prior damage (really, the smallest amount can lead to my downfall). I was considering making it an All Out Physical Ape, with potentially Overheat to hit Celebi and Rotom-A moderately hard. Opinions?

I mention SpecsMence in the DCC thread and this happens...lol

Anyway, as a nitpick on grammar first off, you said in Mamoswine's description "and Slowbro can paralyse slower threats like Starmie, Gyarados, etc..." I'm guessing you meant faster threats.

Now, onto the team itself, it's a very solid offensive front. However, it's really hard for you to absorb sleep without Natural Cure or a rest-talker. It can be played around, but should something be capable of getting one of your team to sleep, it might greatly hinder its effectiveness. Luckily, most of it outpaces Breloom, who can't really come in to Spore anything bar Slowbro, and even then, it must switch in on Surf or Slack Off.

Sleep can be a problem should it actually affect a Pokemon, but most of your team outspeeds Breloom, and Roserade will be OHKO'd thanks to Lum and SS breaking the sash that would save it. Really solid, just watch for Jolly SD Lucario, because it could probably mess some things up. It'll outpace Salamence and OHKO with Ice Punch, and Close Combat after an SD messes up most of the rest of the team. Fire Blast on Slowbro! lol

I personally don't like how Infernape is lacking a fire move, but if it floats your boat, keep it. You could make it a choice Band user to revenge Lucario that don't run E-speed (which will probably get past Slowbro, and Slowbro should beat E-speed versions.) That's just a random suggestion though. It's 6:30 AM here, I'm still awake, I should sleep.

I helped with this team, heil Cute_Azelf !

There isnt many weaks i can really spot, only one would be a well played all out mixape. But SS + LO + Mach Punch keep that in check i should imagine, sort of lol (I havent dont calcs so im not sure if a LO Grass Knot OHKO's bro either).

ALSO ISNT TAR JUST THE BEST LEAD EVER ? lol

I would suggest a replacement but it would ruin the synergy. :/ I was thinking a really bulky reflect/t-bolt/surf/recover Starmie >> Bro might work since it does the same thing and covers ape better too. Bro has alot more bulk though so eh.

This team loses to ape stall

Ok now sorry to break it to you but this team is a complete failure (Epic Failure Guy would like to sue you for plagiarism). You took a bunch of great pokemon (bar Slowbro LOL!), gave 'em life orbs (that couldn't help their lives even if all of them had poison heal), and called it a day. Why is that? because most of them are slower than a limping Shuckle. The average offensive team will most likely rip your team to shreds because it will be attacking first, and your pokemon aren't exactly resistant to a lot of stuff; half of them have a few common weaks (Tar, Mamo, Mag) and being so slow only makes it harder for them to actually be, you know, useful.

Specs Salamence is "amazing dude omg" and all, but a modest one isn't good for this team (modesty is overrated regardless). Outrunning base 90 and non-speed nature base 100 pokes is very crucial in Plat so I wouldn't give up on that so easily, even if it comes at a price of some sheer power.

LO Magnezone is really good, I know that from experience, but in this case I believe a Scarf version would come out more beneficial, because it will outrun most stuff that OHKO it (and a lot of its teammates LOL).

Slowbro is still a set up bait for Gyara with Taunt, and it takes a lot from mixape's Grass Knot. Vaporeon fits here better and can provide Wish support (although it probably won't work on this team, but at least it can support itself).

Now for your fighting weakness (assuming you're taking out that fat Slowbro, bro) I think Celebi could help (instead of Mamo). It has a ton of options, while being in great synergy with the rest of the team. A bulky Celebi (and Vaporeon of course) can save you from other annoying players (such as myself) that occasionally like to use Rain Dance teams and laugh at the computer screen while everything dies to Ludicolo (or Mantine with HP fly).

If you apply these changes then you no longer need Ape to serve as a Lucario check and then you can discover the marvel that is called "Flamethrower".

Good luck!

I really like the synergy of the team and the ability to keep constant offensive pressure on the opponent. I do agree with a lot of people here that Infernape needs a fire move, however. I really would prefer that you kept Mach Punch, because its pulled me out of several situations as well, so I would go Overheat>> Swords Dance and change Infernape to 252 Atk/ 64 Spa/ 192 Spe at Naive. (Alternatively, Plus of Smogon runs 252 Atk/ 24 Spa/ 232 Spe at Naive, which works pretty well also, so you could try that.)

I think it is quite silly how when Salamence switches in, it will take 25% + 6% + 6% = 37% every time it fires off ONE Draco Meteor. So in reality it could only get 3 switch ins and after the first switch in, if your opponent knows what they are doing, they will be able to tell it is SpecsMence and go to their special sponge. This is where I think Rapid Spin support would be oh so useful in giving Salamence a better chance at surviving past early game. Standard Defensive starmie would work so much better over Slowbro in my opinion.

The Lucario weakness and the still slightly prevalent Infernape weakness can be somewhat fixed by scarfing Magnezone. 36 Atk / 252 Spatk / 220 Spe Naive is what I use and it allows Magnezone to outspeed Infernape. Alternatively you can just run Max Speed and SpAtk if you wanted to. Another spread is 56 Atk / 252 SpAtk / 200 Spe Rash which outruns Jolly Cario and always OHKOes Vaporeon with Thunderbolt

I'll go ahead any ignore any stupid / wannabe funny comments from Sya.

Sure, I'll try Timid.

Thunderbolt doesn't even OHKO Lucario, but I'll try Magnezone.

No, Vaporeon might patch up Heatran and Gyarados, but it will COMPLETELY leave me open to all sorts of Fighting-types. I might as well run HP Electric > Thunder Wave or Psychic.

Now for your fighting weakness (assuming you're taking out that fat Slowbro, bro) I think Celebi could help (instead of Mamo). Once I lose Mamoswine, Salamence becomes a massive threat, even moreso with the likes of Vaporeon which you suggested.

If you apply these changes then you no longer need Ape to serve as a Lucario check and then you can discover the marvel that is called "Flamethrower".

=/

Good luck!

Yeah, I can see what you're saying, but if I do make those changes, I become so much more vulnerable to the likes of Salamence it's kind of not funny. I will test out Timid Salamence and Scarfing Magnezone, as well as HP Electric on Slowbro.

I think it is quite silly how when Salamence switches in, it will take 25% + 6% + 6% = 37% every time it fires off ONE Draco Meteor. That sounds like a pretty good idea, I'll try it out, covers Gyarados well also.

I'll test this out, losing the ability to kill Blissey sucks, but I'll manage.

I don't understand the utility of Specsmence in this team, it would be better decidedly in this case MixMence.

It was a dare, and the basis of the team. While MixMence may seem superior, by doing so I ruin the point of this team.

>___> Yeah thanks D_A. Had you not gotten that critical hit Hydro Pump on TTar (which still failed to do over 80%), I would've done better.

Anyway, I took your guys suggestions, so please, look over the team and tell me if it looks any better.
