The DSi will have something called DSWare, similar to the Wii Shop. So it may have GB,GBC and GBA titles.[/obvious part]

Anyway this means it could have R/B/Y and G/S/C without an internal battery, meaning we could carry on playing it and it wont ever run dry.

But we wouldn't be able to trade pokemon...

I doubt it'd have a Ware thing that makes it capable of playing such old games, but it's not exactly hard to change the battery anyway *holds up soldering iron*.
Frankly, I'm amazed that people play Pokemon games enough that their batteries run low, and then would still want to play more.

yeah, supposedly you can buy those games like on the wii.

Yeah, it would probably mean that the internal battery would never run out if you could get R/B/Y on the DSi. Frankly, it would be really weird if it would run out. It would be like there was some kind of command that makes the game die after a certain amount of hours that the game has been played.

That would be seriously and unimaginably awesome. Is this a for sure thing that they're implementing this? I wasn't going to buy one because of the removed GBA port which I always use (I have a GBA but I like the backlit screen and having two games available to me at once in one machine) but if they put this in for sure then I will buy one. Now I'm all excited!

What? D8 All Nintendo would have to do is reformat a file with the old game on it and make it so that it can be downloaded on the DS. Age has absolutely nothing to do with it.

And the battery can run dry even if you just leave it there for several years. You don't even have to play it, like, at all.

That would be grand, but meh. I'm not really into getting the DSi. >>; It took me years to get an SP. xD And it's not even mine-- it's my sister's. Anyway, I kind of doubt they would do that...it's a nice possibility. If they do, I might consider getting one. Might.

And actually, my GB games all still work. All of them. Sometimes Blue doesn't want to start in a cooperative manner, but if you just blow air into it, it works just fine.

Mm.. Could be but I'm not getting that DSi, the normal DS is good enough for me ;)

I planned to get the DS this year but since I heard about the DSi...
I'm definitely going for it. I just want to collect all of the Pokemon games (Considering that I don't even have a DS yet XD DSi, here I come! >:])

Yes, this is true, and the battery will not ever run dry. The game is edited to not have an internal battery and it may be able to trade between two DSi's.
