seriously i don't have anything against its existence but can someone tell me why is this thing so loved + what's up with all the memes? they're not funny. goomy has a very boring design, like come at me and tell me what does this thing have so special about it... sure, it does evolve into the awesome goodra, but goomy's just... there. for me, at least.

I think it has something to do with all the leaks that went on before X and Y were officially released. Everyone was all excited by the prospect of a new dragon-type that wasn't stupidly difficult to locate or ridiculously late-game, and it's somewhat cute, which of course scores it points.

Plus Goomy is another one of those pink/purple derpy blob Pokemon, like Muk and Ditto and Swalot, and EVERYONE loves those. I think. At least it's not Druddigon, the Crayola Dragon designed and coloured by a colour blind three-year old. It could always be worse, right?

In short, I think Meloetta summed it up perfectly. laff
It's probably popular for the same reason Mudkip is. After the leaks of it started popping up, it seems like most people just fell in love with its goofy, cute design. But I think one of the other reasons it became such a breakout Pokemon is because nobody was expecting such a cute glob of goo to be a Dragon-type. I think the joke is that it's so loved because there's nothing really special about it.
