Hello, I just recently started trying to piece together a 1-251 set again. My childhood set was stolen in 2007 by my "best friend". It always kind of left a hole as I'm sure a lot of you understand and grew up playing the first gen. It was a bid part of my childhood and with my son getting into pokemon I felt it would be a good experience to rebuild my childhood set while he goes crazy with the 80 million pokemon they have now. Anyway....

The reason I joined this site is, while looking through some cards I bought, checking if I had shadowless trainer cards, I found something interesting. A maintenance trainer card 83/102 from base set says 1999-2000 wizards. From what I understand and all my other base sets cards confirm, it should say 1999 wizards. Base set 2 cards say 1999-2000 wizards. The earlier cards have 1999. It's not a base set 2 with no stamp because it has the base set numbers 83/102. I can not find another example of this card anywhere, I've looked at almost all the maintenance cards on ebay, loads online, pictures, no info at all. That's where you guys come in. What's up with this card? I will try to post a picture but I'm on my phone so not sure how well it will turn out. Any info will help, let me know what you think. It's not a fake card, it looks like it should and has the black layer in the card. It would be in mint condition if it weren't for one corner.

Not an error, just a less know print run of the Base Set. A decent chunk of my collection of the Base Set has this timestamp since I only got into collecting the cards sometime in 2000. EDIT: And according to searches elsewhere citing a person I know to be very knowledgeable in the community: It's actually the copyright stamp of the 8th print run of the Base Set.

Oh, ok. Makes sense. I never paid any attention to things like this back in the day. Thank you for the information.

Off topic..... I've been buying cards on ebay. I buy everything on ebay lol. But I got to thinking, with the fees from ebay sellers have to post at higher prices. So I looked online and found a few online card stores. Does anyone know any good online card shops? They all seem to have better prices then ebay but Im very comfortable with eBay and iffy on new online shops.
