Any specific reason why you use RPG Maker over lets say, Game Maker? Also why don't you guys try using something more powerful like Unreal Development Kit (https://udk.com/) or Unity3D (https://unity3d.com/) or even Love (https://love2d.org/) Love is a 2d engine, so no complaining about 3D. There are an array of GREAT engines out there that are better than RPG Maker. I don't get why you guys stick to it so much... I understand if you are scared of making your own game from scratch using lets say C++ or Java, but you don't need to.

hey im actually wanting to make a game but cant decide which one to use...

Why waste time scripting from the ground a game that you can't profit from at all?

+ Pocci's kit makes it a lot easier just to use RPG Maker XP for the non-profit game.

    That's my opinion, too.
And there are many guys who don't knwo Unity3D or Love, java, C++ and so on. And, in fact, Poccil's kit is really good for beginnerns without any knowledge.

    Gigatom~

Who called me scared? I am just one lazy guy, that spends about 1 hour per day on creating a game.. I dont have any time left to learn how to code decently or anything, so POKeMON ESSENTIALS is Perfect! :D

You should already know the answer to this but since you asked i'll tell you the answer anyways. They dont have the skill to use said engines it has nothing to do wit fear, I use unity for commercial games, I dont like the license trems UDK has and never knew about love till just now. But I wont recreate a fan(Copyrighted) game from scratch I'm sorry but it seems like a waste of time no matter how much I like pokemon. But again when it boils down to why they use RMXP its the PE SDK and the no programming part, meaning its easy and doesn't require much learning if u can use RMXP u can use pokemon essentials...

Okay this thread is getting closed because I'm of sick of discussions like this.
Kingcharizard, your fan game is being made with RMXP, why not make it with your skills in the commercial engines?

I know first hand that many users- including myself are using other tools for various platforms such as the web with something like flash, or the iphone using Unity or straight up xCode and the SDK. This is a pokemon fan game forum more so then a general game dev forum. That combined with my previous reply is your answer.

These topics like this annoy me, so note to members, don't start a thread to try inflate your egos with silly questions like this.
If you have an issue with me closing this, PM me.
