4th Gen I need help pokeradar shiny chaining

I'm always breaking my chain of sentret on the pokeradar (pokemon pearl) what can I do better? Trying to get a shiny one (highest chain I had was 31)

I think, sadly, that's all up to rng. But I think shiny grass always shines in the pokeradar, so you'll know right away.

I recently started chaining, and my highest is 21 Machops :P so you are actually doing pretty good!
