So the game that I am talking about is related to Pokemon but it isn't part of a core system or PC. So in this Pokemon game you have a hand held and you battle gym leader and put the gym leader you want to back on the top of thing that connects both the gym leader to the game. From there you have you have (the one I got was pikachu and the gym leader was falkner) and it would face the gym leader. So you can attack and train the Pokemon to get stronger to do more damage. But to place the Pokemon it needed a thee prong hole on the bottom so it can fit. That is all I can remember of the game but I am trying to figure out what it is called.

I'm not entirely sure about this, but from your description that sounds vaguely like Pokemon Stadium 2 on the N64. That had a Free Battle mode, as well as the ability to battle Gym Leaders, and a link mode that would let you play the games on the TV. Am I ringing any bells?

So the device only played this game? Like those Digivice toys? Do you remember roughly what year you saw/played this?

It isn't Pokemon stadium 2 since it wasn't a console. It was a miscellaneous type of game. It was kind of like the digivice from the digimon game but the way and color I remember is it was yellow and black since i got pikachu from it. I am guessing it was maybe the early 2000's - middle of it so maybe 2005 or so. That is maybe the rough estimate I can give.

I think one or two of the Pokedex toys came in gold. Was it that, maybe? The only other handhelds I can remember were the Pokeball ones but they were purely for catching Pokemon IIRC and wouldn't be yellow. It may have been a Happy Meal toy. The free toys used to be far better than today, in my opinion, so that's possible.

It wasn't a happy meal toy since we got it from a place called talbots. Hmm I can picture it in my mind on how it looked but it Is just the name. It wasn't skinny like a pokedex. It was a bit bulkier. Yeah I have one of the pokeball games. I will also search again to see if I can find it.

I found a similar one to what I got. It was by hasbro. I found it on eBay. Lol but it is called if people want to know is Pokemon electronic virtual trainer choice handheld game.

Glad you found it! I did try looking on Ebay but everything I found looked dodgy. One had the Pokemon logo upside down lol.

Lol yeah I was talking about this yesterday with a friend. It is always fun to find those types of mistakes. But one story from when I used to have it was that during the middle of the night a couple of times it went off and wanted to play. XD

Would it be the Pokemon V-trainer toys by any chance? Google them, I think that may be what you are thinking of and they were sold in stores like that too! :D
