Hi, I want to make a hack of Pokemon Emerald. First, I need to know the tools and features that other people have already done to reuse in the hack, such as patches. I need to ensure that the patched hack will continue compatible with hacking tools, such as advance map, yape and move editor.
This is the basic ideas for the game.
Basic features:
-More than 999 999 in money;
-Run in-doors;
-Auto repel
Simple changes:
-Add 3 new evolutionary items (stones)
-Make HM moves deletable
-Hide or delete contest features in the stats menu
-Remove some lines in some dialog, including the nurse's dialog.
250 pokemon species will be available in the hack. Only one type of pokedex will be used (no distinction between Hoenn or national).
It includes pokemon from Sinnoh and Unova. There is no need to increase the number of pokemon slots. I only need to know how to import the data of a Sinnoh pokemon to replace an existing pokemon data in Emerald.
When the game starts, I want to skip the starting events: truck, clock, save the professor from a wild pokemon, first rival battle. The player just starts the game. After getting the first pokemon, all resources should be available: Running shoes, map, pokenav, telephone and pokedex.
Complex features:
-Allow the pokemon to hold two items.
-Add the move relearner in the menu or in the pokecenter or PC. No heart scale is required.
-Increase the number of TM to 100. TM items should NOT be reusable.
-If a move were learned with a TM. An option in the menu or pokecenter would remove it to restore the TM item.
-Some trainers should have randomized pokemon in order to make the battle unpredictable.
-Add new field moves: rock climb, ice melt, ...
Battle
-Shift Mode: Hide the name of the next pokemon that the opponent will send. Tell the AI if the player will switch the pokemon, if the player does, the AI will send the next one.
-Set Mode: The surviving pokemon's trainer can perform an extra action. If the trainer chooses to attack, the next pokemon will be received with the attack.
Fairy-type and distinction between physical and special is not a goal of the project. It is okay to include them if the changes don't prevent other hacking tools from working.
