    Hello guys.

I used to play Pokemon TCG 10 years ago, or maybe more (let's say around 1998-2002). The Pokemon mania was pretty viral, they were everywhere, and the TCG was very popular.

First question. How is the situation now?

Also, I rembeber the top deck of those times, they were something like:

Scyther, Electabuzz, Hitmonchan, or even Mewtoo(promotional) (probably not everyone on these ones, but 2 or 3 for sure), and energy removal, super energy removal, double colorless energy, professor oak, bill, recycle energy, gust of wind (all of the first base set ever). I just quoted some random cards of those decks that I'm remembering atm!

Now, a deck with just these cards, all first base set cards, and of course all first generation pokemons, COULD be competitive NOW, or it would be just obsolete?

    I'm a nostalgic one :D

Sorry for the english, I'm Italian

A deck with all those cards is actually not even tournament legal anymore. Well, at least for the major, official tournaments that grant points for Worlds (those being Battle Roads, Cities, States/Provincials, Regionals, Nationals, and Worlds itself). Smaller, local tournaments that are run by individual leagues might allow them, but they wouldn't be competitive at all due to the fact that the card game experienced something called "power creep", where the cards gradually got more powerful with each release.
