Sorry I just could help but think of the Breaking Benjamin song with that title.
Anyway, most of the time I'm usually submissive if the person giving orders is of high authority such as a boss, parent or teacher. If it's something I know I can assist or be a great help in (or something I'm interested in) , then I'll be a leader as much as possible. If that's not the case, then I'll listen to others and follow their orders.

Haha, that's actually where I got the title from!
I'm pretty submissive, which is not a good trait to have. I coach younger kids at my tennis academy, and when things get out of hand, it's very tough for me to wrangle them up and discipline if necessary, because I'm naturally shy and not an outspoken guy. After a year of dealing with the annoying youngsters, though, I've noticed that this summer I'm much more accustomed to yelling at them if they're doing something wrong, so I guess it's improving, haha!

I will not be walked on. I think there is a difference between submission and being a rug whom won't stand up for themselves. I am comfortable in a leadership position but if I am not in that said position, then I do what I am told if I agree or at least see why they would think that. That is my professional life. If someone flat out tells me to do something in my personal life and doesn't actually ask me I won't respect their wishes because I hold enough confidence and presence to know I deserve better.
