Here is some art that I've done over the past month. I really just started drawing but I would LOVE constructive criticism...just don't be too mean! :)

Here's a Spheal...don't they look terribly hard to draw?!...not. xD

A Pachirisu sketch.

Misty. I had a question about this one...I always draw/colour on rough sketch paper and I've noticed that when I scan them they look kind of messy when you full view them...what kind of paper should I be using?

My sad attempt at "finishing" the above drawing. -.- Can someone PLEASE give me tips on how to put my drawings onto backgrounds? It took me forever to finally get this one done and you can still see the white around Misty. If you go to my dA (siggy) and full view this it looks -horrible-.

I'm very proud of this one! The only thing I really use a reference for was her face...because I don't really watch this anime... other than her head and some of her hair the rest was all done by me! :) Luchia from Mermaid Melody.

No, I used coloured pencils then put it in GIMP and smoothed it out. :)

you say you only just started drawing? well, thats a fairly amazing composition of pictures if thats true! :3
did you use refrances or did you create all the poses etc? i see you didn't use many refs on the uncolourd mermaid, thats very awesome, youve shown the ability to create a dynamic pose! very well done!
as for your white lines problem, i reccomend investing in a black pen, i used to use a plain old bic biro and that worked fine. i then scanned in the lineart and colourd it on the computer (you might find this useful for that, if you have photoshop:https://www.mangatutorials.com/tut/cglineart.htm) acctually that site is relitivly fantastic! :3 i used it to death when i was trying to learn!other than that i find no real crits with your work, you have smooth lineart, a good technique in colouring and perfect shading! congrats! a wonderful gallery! 8D!

IF you want crits ok... Butterfrees wings could be a bit lower on the neck. Misty's hair could have some more division, Pach could be colored :P

I dont see that much wrong, as I cant draw ;_;... so hey nice work ;)

Oh wow guys! Thanks for the kinds words! I went on vacation and it rained the whole time I was there so I coloured Pachirisu, Luchia and I drew/coloured Dawn! I also did some Gym Leaders and Cynthia but I haven't been able to scan them, but here's the other three, tell me what you think!:

Right now I am using references for most of my anime drawings. I hope to slowly get out of that and find my own style soon!

I use coloured pencils, but I'm coloring on sketch paper so I don't really like the look...I need to get some new paper! :) Thanks!
