Idea: Tier 6?

well seeing as I've donated $75 and would be one who would probably get bumped up into a new tier if they were created, I feel the need to say this. I could really not care all that much if there were more perks. Sure they'd be great, but I'm also happy with what we have so far.

As many have said before, Donating isn't all about the perks. Donating should be out of the generosity of your heart to help continue such a great place as PC. That being said, I can pretty much guarantee that I will be donating some more in 2009; not because I want more perks, but because this place means a great deal to me. Many of my friends are on here and I'd like to continue to see PC grow and flourish.

In fact... instead of this, why not bump the "Honorable Mentions" into Tier 1?
 
I dont think ive heared the word 'point' used so often in my life.
the point is generous donators are going unrewarded from the, quite frankly, pathetic $25 you donate to get to tier 5.
 
.... Does it even matter? As most of us have stated, it sounds a lot like you're doing this to be seen as some sort of a 'god' on PC. You won't be seen highly just for moving up a Tier...

There is no need to be sarcastic. They guy just though he had a good idea, and decided to share it. I think you have already said that it was not a good idea. If everyone was attacked about every idea they came up with, people would be afraid to post them, and then we would never get any new ideas.
 
What I stated about the honorable mentions is exactly what this is. It would confuse the whole Tier system.
 
I still think its a good idea.
i know if i was on the staff i'd vote it in. although apparently my terrible ideas would make that unlikely. Hell, if i had my way we'd all be pink not blue, lol.

Not necessarily, change is going to be confusing untill people get use to it.

I think it should stay the same.

Besides it's all in the way that it's done.

There's really no point in having Tier 6, but I suppose there aren't any disadvantages, either. It is kind of ridiculous, though; we can't just go around adding new user groups everytime somebody feels like donating more money than usual.

And as for greed, yes, you're acting extremely greedy right now. You wouldn't donate $100 to Salvation Army, then ask for a shiny, solid gold trophy just to show off your so called 'generousity', would you?
 
Why don't we make this a poll? That way everyone gets their ideas on the matter.
 
I believe it should stay the same, we have enough usergroups as it is. Adding more would be more of burden on the staff, who are already swamped.

I though you were against it? Most of the people here are against it. Why do need a poll? And there is no need for this to become a flame war.
 
I did say sorry for that. im not asking for a gold trophy, just a bumper sticker to display. the only change is a number.
and bouysel's system maybe worth consideration, however it is a bit farfetch'd.
 
I do disagree with it, I never said I started agreeing with it. Most people do disagree with it, yes, but what if some new supporters come in and see this? I think a poll is needed or this will become a flame war.

And I agree with Gerri; there's no point in adding user groups just because we want them. User groups should only be implemented out of necessity. A fancy new number on a 102x22 forum badge isn't exactly a legitimate reason.

If most of the people don't like it, then why do we need a poll to tell us the same thing? Besides its up to the staff anyway. And us supporters, no matter how high our tier, don't have the final say so.

It doesn't have to be a flame war. You've stated your option, I've stated mine, no need to attack each other because of what we have posted.

I think a logical question to be put on the table is why. Why do you think we need another Tier rank? I think once that's cleared up, since you've stated that you didn't mean to sound selfish, and I don't really see a real reason why we need one stated by anyone here, it seems appropriate to ask that question.

This is a very good point. Why do we need to add more tiers? We don't, really.
I fail to see a good legitimate reason to add more tiers, especially when they would only be used by a limited few.
 
The only reason he would want another tier is for more perks, that's what separates each tier from another tier.
