Idea: Tier 6?

But why would those supporters want to be put into a higher tier? As we've already stated, there's no real benefit. You get nothing out of it. People won't think "Woah... he's tier 6, that guy's awesome" will they?

That seems to me like a reasonable start if there were more than just recognition involved. Is there anything else that you think should happen for those who donate that much? Like, perks or other aspects that could be added? Since that's really the only thing that's stopping the staff, as they stated before in previous suggestions, from adding more Tier ranks.
 
Most of us wouldn't be moved anyway.
 
Right,.. because that makes perfect sense.

What you're basically saying is: "I believe we should get rid of the Tier system just because people who donated $50.00 to the community (to help the community with expenses) don't have a special rank recognizing that they donated more than everyone else."

And that doesn't sound at all useful to the community as a reason for adding another Tier rank.
 
That would be a definite no. You can't have mod powers for donating, that's the most stupid thing I have ever heard. You become a mod for showing hard work and dedication, not donating money. That sentence just proves all you want is power.
 
Mod power, No. Moderatorship should be earned, otherwise it would just be abused.
 
Or how about proving to be a good member to the community and earning the powers of a moderator instead of buying your way into it? Or is that just too hard to do?
 
Why? Because Tier 6 would be struggling to fit in extra perks, while Tier 5 and under has perks of its own.
 
Alright, now you're just being ridiculous. Members who are chosen to be moderators have clearly demonstrated a certain level of maturity and responsibility to get that position; not every member can do that. While on the other hand, anyone can spend a little money to become Tier 6.

What I'm saying is that if members who aren't cut out ti be mods were suddenly given mod powers, even if only over a small section, chaos would surly ensue.

Exactly; why is Tier 6 any different than Tier 5 is? I'll tell you: a number. That's all it is. You've, as it's been proven already, already shown that you just want to be recognized and want some power around the boards for a reason of your own. You've been here for a year now, you'd think you know not to do that by now. Besides, you're already getting recognized by making this thread and making these pointless remarks that make no sense. Is that how you would like to be looked upon by the Supporting community if this is even done? I don't think so, and if you are, you really need to learn something about the community and about yourself.

I tried helping you out with this idea, and it just.. didn't work due to your statement on why you wanted to add a new Tier rank to the system that's already fine as it is.

now instead of being fickle lets put our heads together and think of some perks. if not, stop posting as youve made it clear that you dont want change.
now how about use of HTML? even if its confined to the vip forum it would be good.
 
that's not possible, the way VB is set up HTML is either on for the whole board, or off for the whole board.

^ Exactly.

Not to mention HTML is a dangerous code; a lot of bad could come from that. But y'know what? Instead of coming up with our own, why don't we let staff grant us more permissions when and if they're ready to.
 
besides, we can't legally store ROMs here. and we have the attachment system for IPS patches.

I think we had better let the staff discuss and decide what, if any, new permissions an tier above 5 would get. personally, I am fine with what I have.
