    Another month, another disappointing lack of information regarding these games. It's clearly not what people want.

    So what I'd like to know is, if you were put in charge of how information was revealed for Pokemon Sun and Moon over the months between now and its release, how would YOU handle it? What would you reveal, when, and how? Monthly directs? CoroCoro releases only? Nothing at all until the game's release, or everything at once at an event like E3 and leave the internet to stew? What would your strategy be? It doesn't have to be realistic or even in line with past trends. Use your imagination and share your grand strategy :3
     
    I'd have announced it in February, as happened. Then slowly 'leak' images of new areas in game every few weeks until the end of may. This is when we meet the cover legendaries, June will release the starters and by E3 a few more Pokémon will be released. September will be evil team time, and more Pokémon throughout October for a November release. Not too much but enough to get people excited. We only need the most basic of intonation really...
     
    I would have had the initial announcement then going months at a time with no news but have a lot of it at once. I see the point of teasing us but it's too much teasing. Nintendo aren't putting out and it's going to get old.

    That's honestly too much to me at least in terms of the Dex.

    Images of areas? Okay. Starters, cover legendaries, maybe a notable 'mon or two? Okay. Evil team? Okay. But I'd keep the 'mons revealed to about 10, tops.
     
    Honestly, I'd just make the announcement and reveal very little.

    ORAS was immensely disappointing in the sense that the key features of the game (all new mega evolutions for example) had already been announced and considering it was a remake, there was very little excitement by the end of it for me.

    I'd probably want to know some locations details and the starters so I could just imagine the adventure before I get to experience it.

    That's just me though.
     
    I've half-joked around that it'd be interesting if they released information in reverse order.
    I actually do think that could work, provided you're careful about how much context you give with what's released.

    This basically seems to be how the news is getting handled at this point, going months without news and then releasing a huge information dump. I would reveal the mascot legendaries first, which April should have done, and then starters, protagonists, region, villains, and more new Pokemon in between.
     
    FEB - Announcement
    March - Starter Silhouettes
    April - Starters Revealed + BoxArt Legendaries
    May - Parts of the region, rest covered in clouds, a screen or 2.
    June - Same as May + a pokemon
    July - Region revealed, basic rodent / bird / bug
    August - Notable legendary like Shaymin/Manaphy
    September - More screenshots, 1 or 2 pokemon
    October - Some town names, and location screenshots
    November - Whole dex. Kidding kidding. Evil team reveal, little bit of plot.

    Hows this?

    I dunno I remember back in gen V everyone was craving new Pokémon - they wanted that more than anything. Revealing new Pokémon also helps keep the other information low key - battle changes, special features, plot, etc, so it'd work as a buffer.

    I can see what you mean, I was one of many who had new Pokemon hype back then as the Unova Pokemon were getting revealed, and I agree it's the main reason people get hyped about a new generation. Because we can't have a new generation without new Pokemon.
