    of pokemon, what would it be? What would you want to see become a type? I think "light" would be a good type, but idk. It would evoke all kinds of religious connotations that might explode some 8 year olds head, so I doubt that will ever become a type lol.
     
    Bacon. Super effective to all types, but weak against fire.
     
    I can see Cosmic-type pokemon and attacks. The Clefairy family, Solrock, Lunatone, the Beldum family, Jirachi, Deoxys, and Cresselia as well as their signature moves seems to evoke the powers of the sun and moon and space in general more than earthly psychic powers...
     
    Digital-type. Super-effective against Dragon, weak to Poison and Bug. Other than that, a Bacon-type sounds really.... tasty. Mmm. Anyone up for some roast Grumpig?
     
    Yawn, Physic is light. but if light would be a new type,

    Attacks are Super Effictive Agist: Fire (oxygen could be a substiute for light), Ghoast (Ghoast don't like light) Fight (do i need to say anymore)

    attacks are Not verry effictive Agist: Water (water bends light), Normal (just becouse)

    Defensive wise

    Super effictive: None (light is pure)

    Not verry effictive Agist: Water, ghoast, fighting

    Types that are Immune to it

    Dark

    It is Immune to

    Dark

    Dark and light are complete Oppisites, so they would be immune to each other just like Normal and Ghoast, becouse Normal is well, normal, and Ghoast is sort of supernatural.

    Other Types

    SOUND
    STORM
    SAND
    VIRUS
    GALAXLY
     
    Psychic you mean? (I'm not trying to be condescending, but is that what you meant?). If so what do you mean that psychic is the same as light? I'm curious now:)

    There needs to be planetary pokemon. Like the death star or pokemon haha. (Off th topic- that would be a good story for a pokemon movie, they pick up some gigantic power level coming from space; then find out it is really a giant pokemon.) That storyline sound familiar though... Maybe I am ripping something off...

    Oxygen... Hmm. How about 'Air' pokemon. Now we are stepping on captian planets toes:p

    Whatever it is it'll have to be some kind of "concept" type. Fire, Water, Grass, Rock, Ground, Steel, Ice, Poison and Electric are all "substances" in that the Pokemon are partially or wholly made of this type. Bug, Ghost and Dragon are similar in that they are just what they are. These cover pretty much everything physical you can think of (all plants are Grass, liquids are Water, hot things are Fire, bugs are Bug, etc.) Normal is a kind of special category for anything that doesn't fit anywhere else or for Pokemon that are similar to real animals.

    Flying, Fighting, Psychic, Dark are "concept" types in that they describe what a Pokemon does (Flying types fly, Dark types play dirty, etc.) IMO, this is the kind of type a new type would have to be without it becoming silly.

    Maybe Captain Planet wouldn't mind there being a Heart type.
     
    It seems the flying type has more wind-based moves (gust, aeroblast) than flight-based moves (aerial ace, wing attack). I don't think it would be a bad split if they decided to do it. Same with things like Psychic and Cosmo/Light, and Fighting and Aura. Reasonable splits of existing types.

    Okay as for the rest of the type My version Demonstration:

    AVANTAGES/DISAVANTAGES (type light)

    Although light has no entire weakness (meaning a light/Normal or Light/Dark pokemon would become the next spritomb/Sableye) For this type you could say thier excpecialy strong in Sp.Attacks and Attack while lacking Magior Defenses Particluy the Sp defense. While haveing Moderte speed and decent HP. If GF would to go based on my idea, Light would be a verry good TYPE to go with. The only Disavantage It would have would be It's Immunity to dark types, but both types are immune to each other (unless an attack like Mirecle eye is used). So i give this type a thumbs up.

    Other Types

    Physic just seemes like light to me, but cretian New types could be split from the Regular 17.

    Dark and Steel were designed mainly to counter the ridiculous advantage that Psychic had in Generation I. But, if there were to be a new type, this makes the most sense, IMO:

    The Light-type is already represented by various types:

    Flash Cannon, Mirror Shot, Doom Desire: Steel
    Solarbeam: Grass
    Sunny Day: Fire
    Light Screen: Psychic
    Flash: Normal

    I, for one, support the creation of a Wind-type. The current Dragon/Flying types could become Dragon/Wind, while the birds/bats/bugs remain sub-Flying.
     
    I like the idea of Sound-type, but I don't see it going far. Sure, we've got Growl, Hyper Voice, Howl, Roar, Uproar, Sing, etc... But they're all useless against Voltorb and you can't really have a manifestation of sound as a Pokemon.

    The fact that there is an ability that specifically guards against it makes Sound moves stand out quite a bit.

    The only issue I'm having with this is that sound is just air waves, so it'd probably fall under Wind/Flying before a separate type comes up for it.

    The Whismur and Jigglypuff lines could be Normal/Sound if it went through, though.

    On another note, Bug Buzz, a sound-based move, is neither Normal nor Flying.

    The main point of normal is the fact that it is not supereffective against anything. :(

    Sound is a pretty nice idea. The fact that Soundproof is there makes it stand out even more, and turns the ability into one just like Volt absorb / Flash Fire / etc.

    Light is the one that we've repeatedly discussed. K, Psychic is NOT light. Fire is NOT light. Electric is NOT light. Light is it's own type of energy... light energy. In a lamp, Electricity is not visible; you see light, which is the product of electricity being converted. There are a couple different ways we could split this idea off into: laser / infrared, neon, etc. The problem is that we've already gone so far without many (or any) Pokemon having a characteristic that could fall under light. It wouldn't seem "right" to introduce light to a further generation without many Pokemon being a light type in the past generations.

    Void is a nice idea, but not many Pokemon have a characteristic that can give it a void typing.

    Well there's a Dark type. I don't think that Light would be that bad...
