If you had to choose just one band...

If you had to choose just one favorite band out of all of the ones you love, who would it be and why?

For me, it would be Simple Plan because this band has been my life since I was sixteen. They have saved my life many times. I adore them more than just about anything, and without them I probably wouldn't be with you guys today. :)

Okay so, the reason is because one time, I was on the verge of wanting to kill myself. I had gotten yelled at for my actions and how I acted towards other people. I started crying heavily because I felt really awful. I have mild autism, and I started hating myself because of it. I started feeling like this horrible monster because I couldn't do anything right because of it. Well, then... some songs were leaked by Simple Plan... and I started listening to one of them. I began crying even more while listening to the lyrics of this song. It made me realize that instead of thinking about dying, that I should spend more time overcoming my challenges, my obstacles. I should be proving to people how much better I can be. It just... saved my life. So yeah.

So, what about you? I posted this here for the personal reasons that come with some responses and that other normal members might not understand. Plus, my reasons are pretty personal and really touchy for me. :x

Kings of Leon, no questions asked. I don't make it any secret that they're my favorite band and my favorite music artist in general. I started listening to them when Klippy recommended their song Arizona to me. That ended up becoming my favorite song, as well as the first I heard by them. That being said though, I honestly don't know how I avoided Use Somebody and Sex On Fire. I legit had never heard them on the radio and a lot of people hate those because they were apparently always on. Oh well.

Anyway, they mean a lot to me personally and they have a lot to do with my friendship with Klippy. They have a new album in about 12 days and I'm super excited for it. :) Gonna listen to it with the Klippster so we can discuss the songs and pick favorites and all that good stuff. Can't wait!

Since you said band, I'm going to go with Chevelle. They weren't always my favorite, but they gradually worked their way up to that spot. I think the mark of a good musician is that you can listen to their songs multiple times and come away with a different meaning or interpretation of the lyrics, and still get goosebumps. I get that with Chevelle - they're really known for metaphorical and obscure lyrics, which is great, because different listeners can have wildly different interpretations, but all of them love the band.

They're also a rock band, from Chicago, are siblings, and have surprisingly normal lives and values, which I find really admirable too, despite their success and despite the temptations that come with being music stars.

Arctic Monkeys! I've always adored their sound and they're incredible at what they do. Their first two albums were perfect and the two following were different but still incredible, and their latest one so far has been... wow. Even the B-sides from this newest album have been fantastic so I can't wait to see what's coming next.

Cold Play most definitely! I've always loved their songs; plus, I'm not into many bands so it's the best of my little Favourites Bunch for sure.

I think if I had to choose another band, it would be My Chemical Romance. Mainly because they had such an important part of my life. When they broke up, I cried. I really did. It was heartbreaking for me because I've grown to love these guys since I was sixteen. Gerard is one of my heroes, and I truly adore him. <3
