If you Were a Gym Leader

Lol at everyone jumping on the 8th badge wagon. For me:

Bug Type

6th Badge

Gym Layout - Maze consisting of trees, string shot silk and web traps. Every time you land on a trap, you have to face a trainer. Beat the trainer, the trap is disabled and you can walk over the space it was once in.

Leader lurks at the back of the Gym.

Pokemon:

Lapras Level: 38 (to deal with those who think they can just blast in with a Fire type or a Flying type)
Foretress Level: 40
Butterfree Level: 41
Heracross Level: 43
Scizor Level: 45

Once the Protagonist is victorious, the Leader hands out the Silk badge.

I'm going to answer this thread as if it were in the anime rather than the games. That being said, I opt for a Dark-Type Gym. Aside of battles I think I would run a Trainers School :)

The battles will always be fought at night, and the gym will have a roof capable of sliding open to let moonlight in. I would give the challengers the option of battling on a normal field or a basin of water with black platforms here and there.

Teams:

Field: Houndoom, Umbreon, Honchkrow
Water: Sharpedo, Weavile, Honchkrow

If the challenger managed to prevail over a tricky and sometimes dirty strategy I would give them the Eclipse Badge.

Ive been waiting for one of these.

[PokeCommunity.com] If you Were a Gym Leader

Ice type

4th Gym

In an Ice Palace.
They have to defeat my 3 Gym trainers before me, all consecutively.
Once they reach me, the whole Palace is usable as the battleground, it's made out of Ice so its to my advantage. The ground can part open to reveal shallow water.

Pokemon:
Lv. 25 Shellder
Lv. 24 Snorunt
Lv. 27 Sealeo
Lv. 30 Jynx

The Chill Badge :3
and new TM. Frostbite (90% chance of freezing the foe but only 35 Damage. 5PP)

8th Gym: Fossil

Primeval Badge

Down flights of stairs with some trainers to a cavern with a small platform surrounded by water.

Relicanth Lvl. 48
Cradily Lvl. 49
Bastiodon Lvl. 50
Armaldo Lvl. 51
Aerodactyl Lvl. 53
Kabutops Lvl. 55

Give out an Ancient Power TM

8th Gym Leader of Psychic
Meditation Badge
TM would be Psychic

The Gym would be dark, only a small patch of light that grows bigger as you beat more trainers. Every tile of the Gym would be filled with warps that warps you to another location on the Gym. The tiles would make you reach and fight all 8 Gym trainers within (meaning forced battles) before fighting me. If the trainer gets lost, he/she won't be able to escape from the Gym, hehes. Therefore, requires calmness/meditation to get through.

The whole Gym would be a big square of tiles with several non-warp tiles occupied by the Gym trainers. Meaning one big room with warp tiles that you have to navigate through.

Xatu Level 43 - Drill Peck, Psychic, Wish, Future Sight
Starmie Level 45 - Hydro Pump, Psychic, Ice Beam, Thunderbolt
Alakazam Level 47 - Psychic, Signal Beam, Focus Blast, Shadow Ball
Gardevoir Level 45 - Psychic, Shadow Ball, Thunderbolt, Wish
Jynx Level 43 - Lovely Kiss, Dream Eater, Ice Beam, Psychic

I think about this a lot 8D Especially since when I was younger and saw the third movie. Ahem. Also, nice map, Resultz.

Water-type gym leader - 3rd
In a nautical harbour city is where this gym is found. The trainer takes a bridge to the gym and enters, then fights their way through the two disciples, who have a Wingull and a Krabby respectively. The gym is full of tides like in RSE.

Wingull Lv. 17 - Growl / Wing Attack / Supersonic / Water Pulse
Corsola Lv. 17 - Water Pulse / Aqua Ring / Recover / Bubble
Chinchou Lv. 18 - Water Pulse / Charge Beam / Confuse Ray / Thunder Wave

Gym is based on confusion stalling.

Brine Badge

One gym that is really just my fantasy:

Grass-type gym leader - 7th
In a town full of flowers and trees. Maybe falling cherry blossom petals like Kyoto in spring :3 Basically takes Erika's theme further. ^^;

The gym would be decorated with flowers and trees and bridges, with a giant flower with the gym leader in it at the top. There would be two disciples with Skiploom, Cherrim, Roselia, and Tangela. To cause the petals of the flower to unfold, you have to press the lantern switches, which means you have to get past the disciples.

Jumpluff Lv. 37 - Memento / Sleep Powder / Sunny Day / Reflect
Roserade Lv. 40 - Shadow Ball / Sludge Bomb / SolarBeam / Weather Ball
Cherrim Lv. 39 - SolarBeam / Sunny Day / Giga Drain / Growth

TM: 22 SolarBeam

The emphasis is on special attackers with good coverage. Cherrim is able to set up Growth because of Memento, Sleep Powder, and Reflect. Roserade can clean up and/or sweep with Sunny Beam. However, Fire-types shred through the team, as does anything with great Special Defense. Sunny Day can be Potion-stalled.

Petal Badge

Steel-Type

Fourth Gym

Magneton
Steelix
Forretress
-------------
[Additional Pokemon upon rematch]
Bronzong
Skarmony

All around Lvl 27-32.

My gym would look like a giant, clean-slate factory retrofitted to be a laboratory. My trainers and I will be dressed in all white in lab coats. I will grant the Slice Badge upon defeat.

I would control the ground type, and I'd be somewhere around the 5th gym leader, my team consisting of. . .

Spoiler:

Upon winning, the player receives TM28, Dig.

This would be my rematch team. . .

Spoiler:

My gym would be in a small tunnel in the middle of a desert.

no gyms for me. In a hack I'm making I'm the third elite 4 member.

Ground Type

Team:
Nidoking
Swampert
Rhyperior
Mamoswine
Gliscor

If I could be an Elite Four, I'd be the 3rd, leaving the 4th for any Dragon Type.

Exeggutor Level 57 - Synthesis, Ingrain, Leech Seed, Giga Drain
Starmie Level 59 - Surf, Psychic, Thunderbolt, Ice Beam
Alakazam Level 61 - Psychic, Signal Beam, Focus Blast, Calm Mind
Gardevoir Level 60 - Psychic, Shadow Ball, Thunderbolt, Healing Wish
Jynx Level 58 - Lovely Kiss, Dream Eater, Ice Beam, Sweet Kiss

7th Gym
Specialising in the un-evolved forms of Pokemon

In true Anime style gym battling, I'll be using three Pokemon,
Team:
Bulbasaur
Charmander
Squirtle

If beaten I'd award the trainer with the 'Basic Badge'

I would be the 7th gym leader and use fire types and give out the BlazeBadge.

My Team would be:
Spoiler:

My Rematch Team would be:
Spoiler:

All of my rematch team knows Eruption, even though most of them can't learn it, and Blaziken's moves are:
-Blaze Kick
-Sky Uppercut
-Endure
-Reversal

He is also holding a Salac Berry, and his Defence and special defence Base Stats are both 50 instead of the normal 70 and his speed base stat is 120 instead of the normal 80, making him much more difficult to defeat with his Endure / Reversal combo.

I have two ideas of what I would be like as a Gym leader.

Steel Type - Platinum Badge - TM92 Trick Room
Bronzong Lv. 50 @ Lum Berry - Trick Room / Explosion / Earthquake / Gyro Ball
Magnezone Lv. 52 @ Sitrus Berry - Thunderbolt / Flash Cannon / Iron Defence / Magnet Rise
Lucario Lv. 52 @ Iron Ball - ExtremeSpeed / Swords Dance / Close Combat / Fling

This team is focused around Trick Room.

The gym would be decorated with steel floors and walls, making the entire gym look silver, the gyms layout will be a maze built up of many paths (Some elevated, some on the gyms floor and some that lower to pass under the floor paths).

Dark Type - Moonlight Badge
I'm not sure what my team would be (however it would definately include an Umbreon) the Gym's design would be a dark room decorated with blue lights that run along the floor (to resemble a shiny Umbreon)

I'd be a Ghost Gym Leader. 1st to be precise.

Lv. 14 Spiritomb. And maybe a Stunky for lolz. But that would make it a Dark Gym. x)

Dark Pokémon

5th Gym Leader

Level 27 Murkrow

Level 28 Houndoom

Level 31 Umbreon

Gym Badge - Dusk Badge. (:

Mine would be the 8th gym (or at least the most powerful!)
Fire type gym
Pokemon would beee...:
Ninetales Lv 40
Arcenine Lv 39
Flareon Lv 39
Houndoom Lv 39
Heatran Lv 43

If a challenger were to defeat me I would give them the TM Fire Blast and the Rise Badge

I'd use the Water type and my team would be:

Gyarados
Blastoise
Golduck
Floatzel
Lapras
Swampert (highest level)

Battles would be held in a large pool with completely sationary platforms all over, a couple
above the Water level and some platforms just float.
