Okay so most bands today cover at least ONE SONG.

So the question remains, if you were in a band, what song or songs would you cover?

I'd love to cover the following:

    One -Metallica
    Fade to Black -Metallica
Dyers Eve -Metallica (It is my life long goal to drum to this song)
The Day That Never COmes -Metallica
    Floods -Pantera
    Cemetary Gates -Pantera

I got a lot more...but what are some of yours?

Green Machine by Kyuss is an early pick.
If we go real far back in musical time, I'd probably have to say something like...Who Are The Brain Police? by Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention.
Kill The Poor, California Uber Alles...all possible picks.

    I would like to cover
    When Doves Cry - Prince
I'm Coming down, Long good-bye or Alone in the Universe - David Usher

(Those are three different songs FYI)

    • "the Grimoire of Alice" by ZUN
    • The English version of "Dogfight" by Move (the Japanese version is half English anyway so just sounds weird when you listen to the lyrics)
    • "Rainmaker" by Iron Maiden
    • "The First Time" by Loser
    • "The Battle of Monte Cassino" by Michael Giacchino
    • "Hammer Head" by Racjin-Radix
    • "Sonne" by Rammstein

    Only some, heh.

Awesome topic. We used to cover quite a bunch of songs within sessions and ocassionally on gigs.

    • Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd
    • Comfortably Numb by Pink Floyd
    • Mother by Pink Floyd
    • Lady Fantasy by Camel
    • Black Dog by Led Zeppelin
    • Stairway To Heaven by Led Zeppelin
    • Hold On by Kansas
    • Machine Messiah by Yes
    • One by U2
    • Rock Bottom by UFO
Those were the ones we played with most confidence and quality.

This is a good topic, I can't believe no one had thought of this until now.

    Stairway To Heaven- Led Zeppelin
Sweet Child O' Mine - Guns N Roses
November Rain - Guns N Roses
    Hotel California - The Eagles
No More Tears - Ozzy Osbourne
    Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen
    One - Metallica

LOL!! Hmm i've always wanted to hear a 'faster and more rockin' Stacy's Mum by Fountain of Wayne...
Soo most probably that i guess :D

    So hard to choose...

"American Girl" - Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers
"Let It Be" - The Beatles
    "Rockestra Theme" - Rockestra/Paul McCartney & Wings
"Old Siam Sir" - Paul McCartney & Wings
"Twenty Flight Rock" - Eddie Cochran

EDIT: Oh, and "Another Day" by Paul McCartney

Thank you. You were in a band?

    I'm having problems finding a band :(

    Other song's I'd cover

    Some Kind of Monster- Metallica
    Hero of the Day- Metallica
I'm Just a Singer (In a Rock 'N Roll Band) -The Moody Blues
Sweet Child 'O Mine -Guns 'N Roses (I can drum pretty much perfectly to this song in a way)
CYanide- Metallica (I can drum ALMOST perfectly to this song)

If I was in a band, I'd cover songs like Paint it Black by The Rolling Stones, crushcrushcrush by Paramore, and various Beatles songs because they just own the world.

In my former band Anti-Product (short-lived 4 piece band, 5 months) we covered Alice in Chains' Rain When I Die I did the vocals justice. 'Good For You' by Third Eye Blind was our first, I played lead guitar and it was so fun, so perfectionist, it killed!
and before we split, we were in the process of doing a cover of 3 Libras by A Perfect Circle, for which I supplied rhythm guitars.

Currently, I plan on working alone.

    Well... I'm sure if I was in a band band, it would be poppy. And if I were singing it would be pop country cause of my voice. XD;
But maybe Misery Business by Paramore, 4ever-The Veronicas, well any of the Veronica's songs... and maybe Love Song by Taylor Swift. I dunno. Never really thought about it.
