I'm confused on navigating the new forum layout.

    Okay for some strange reason, when I wasn't logged on, the website had a complete makeover with a new layout, that had a plain black banner that has a Xerneas on it, and I got really confused because I didn't see any link that says Log In. I only saw a link for new members to register. The only way I could log in was by going on a thread and hitting reply in order to redirect myself to the log in page. Then after I logged in, the layout went back to the normal Pokecommunity layout with the banner of a guy on the Articuno.
     
    The forum has a lot of different skins that you can swap between by using the drop-down box in the bottom-left corner of the screen on every page of the forum; the skin you're used to (the guy riding the Articuno) is called "Let's Fly Together", and the Xerneas one is called "Yggdrasil" (I think!). You can change your default forum skin in your Control Panel (link, scroll down to "miscellaneous options") so as long as you've set Let's Fly Together (assuming that's the one you wish to keep) as your default forum skin, whenever you log in you'll see the forum with that skin. If you want to look through some of the site's skins to see which you like most, simply scroll through the drop-down box at the bottom of the page and choose one you like, then it'll show you the forum in that skin.

    It's not something a lot of forums tend to use so quite a few people do get confused with it; feel free to message a member of staff if you need help :)

    The op is descibing exactly what happened to me.

    Usually this site logs me out every 5-10 minutes whether I'm on the site or not/typing a reply so I have experience with logging in, since I have to do it countless times every hour.

    There's usually two boxes on the top right corner if I'm not logged in so I just type the first few letters and it types the rest. But there's no button there, I prefer the double boxes actually. I had to reply, then get the error page saying I couldn't do that and log in that way. My name isn't there after i log in either like it use to be so I can't tell if I'm logged in, and since this site logs me out every 5 minutes it's helpful to know if you're logged in or if you have to copy your post then paste it after logging in again. I can't think of any other site that does that to be honest.

    It's a bug with the style, like I've just been explaining. I very recently updated the navbar and didn't notice the kinks until this thread was created. Again, I'll have it fixed as soon as possible. Right now, I can't fix it myself since I'm taking time off staff for a while. However I'll try get someone to work on it.

    It's not a matter of "the site doing this or that," it just happens to be my fault that there's a bug in the navbar. I'll get it fixed tonight if I can. You should be able to tell when you're logged in because you'll see a Notification, Messages, and Me, menu on the top right. This will be less visible to users with smaller resolutions, which is the current issue right now. It's actually an easy fix so sit tight!

    PS. If you don't wish for the site to log you out when you go inactive, simply click the "Remember Me" button next time you do log in.
