well i can honestly say with my hand on my heart that i have not cheated..however..i HAVE used a Xploder device to get my hands on a jirachi and deoxies and a mew and a ho-oh but thats it.i think its alright using them to get ledgendaries isnt it?i plan to import the rest from my saved games on fire red/leafgreen so i still caught them..and the rest i can get from colleseum.whic hi still havnt played properly..but what do you guys think? is it wrong of me to use these devices for ledgendarys? after all its not like im duplicated mastreballs and rare candys.

iv only trained 2 high lvl ledgendaries.
lvl 100 mewtwo and lvl 96 rayquaza.heh and i also got a play time of 180 hours ^.^ so you decide..

no matter what you do with a cheating device you use it, your a cheater

using any sort of device like that is definitely cheating, and besides, you could have gotten Ho-oh from colloseum without cheating anyway. it is wrong for you to use a device for legendaries, because think of those people who actually went to an event and earned them (or used colloseum and the bonus disc). It isn't fair to use a Pokemon which you didn't legitimately obtain. If you've ever wanted to use a legitimate deoxys, I think you are able to control one in XD if you choose that battle now option with the computer on the hardest mode, but you can only use it for the battle, it won't be yours.

I kind of understand if you cheated for the event Pokemon because not all people are able to go there and get whatever the item is. And only if your desprite. Some people claim they never cheated before, but I have to get Mew, Deoxys and Jirachi

as everybody said....no matter what you do...if you use a cheating device then you cheated

    Eww!!! A Cheater!!!

does using glitches like cloning and missingno. etc count as cheating?
i wouldnt say so, but your certainly not playing by the rules.....and ROFLZ yes, yes you are a cheater...lol

Yes, but who cares what people who incessantly judge everyone think? Don't listen to people who call you a cheater, just ignore them, if that what's bothering you.

LMAO. First off, buying that horrible game was NOT worth getting the Ho-oh. Second, no one 'earns' anything by travelling hundreds of miles to get some pokemon. Not everyone lives near an event, or has the time or money to go to one. It isn't wrong, it's the smart thing to do. Third, Why aren't they legitimate? They paid for the cheating device, it's not like they got it for free, which I believe is what happens at those events :D . Also, why would anyone want to use a Deoxys? I'd want to actually own it, not stare at it for a little while. I could do that without buying that game.

i would call it cheating.... but really only if ho oh know hydro pump and so on i would cheat for legends but my mew i wouldn't care about because i went to toys r us and got it then i lost my game

If you're doing it to get a special Pokemon that only appears hundreds or thousands of miles away from where you are, I would call it partially cheating.
Some people just don't want to or can't waste money to go to the PokCenter in NY just to get a couple special pixels.
But it does take the fun out of doing it.

Gamefreak just wants people to buy their stuff.

It's not cheating if you can only obtain the pokemon through a special event...Think about it.
What do you gain from traveling more than 100 miles for a mew? nothing.
It's cheaper...to drive to your local game store and buy a cheating device and use it to get mew than it is to drive all the way to the event just to get an item to get the pokemon...and then when you get the item and you do use it sometimes you have to solve some silly puzzle that is so simple that it frustrates you for months...*coughdeoxysonr/s/e/fr/lgcough*
now it is cheating if you use that same device to give a pokemon an illegal moveset...
maxing out items and or money is also not cheating...it's the time wise way to get the supplies you need to train an awesome pokemon in a limited amount of playing tiome.
finally it's cheating to use the device to get any other pokemon that dont require you to attend an event to obtain....or use it to fill your pokedex...or use it to max out your stats to 999 or whatever the max number actually is...

Nope Its Cheating....Using a 3rd party device in order to "Complete" Your game.

I don't think it is cheating because most people don't have the time or money to travel to New York City to get a rare Pokemon.

If the question is "Am I a cheater?", then the answer is yes. A cheater is "one who uses cheats". You used third party software to obtain pokémon which are not normally obtainable in the game, so technically you are a cheater. There's no way around it because it's a fact. However... Whether being a cheater is bad or not depends on how you cheated (no facts here, whether you're bad or not is all opinion).

In my opinion, I don't think what you did was all that bad, seeing as the pokémon you cheated were obtainable only through Nintendo Events (with the exception of Jirachi who is obtainable through PKMN Channel and Ho-oh who is obtainable through PKMN Colleseum for the GCN). Mostly everyone who's posted in this thread and said you're a cheater don't have a problem with it. Like a few of them have stated, it's not you like you used cheats to gain access to unlimited RARE CANDY or anything. Only a slight few people here actually have a problem with you cheating, barely any, and technically many people here are cheaters, so don't let it bother you if someone calls you a cheater.

*note: we have the right to modify our games for personal usage, making the use of hacking systems such as your Xploder device legal, but only for personal usage. I would assume, then, that trading/using that pokémon in battles with another player would be illegal. Of course, that doesn't mean you can't... It just means doing this would be illegal, since you would have gone beyond that of personal usage...

All of these post makes perfect sense. Using a cheating device makes you a cheater, no argument there. But I beleive what he did wans't wrong at all. Some post are saying it takes the "fun" and "honor" by doing that. Who are you to judge? Sitting on your high-horse telling him to travel hundreds of miles to get some pixels, or telling him to play that awful XD game for a Deoxys? You do that. Or better yet, give him that Deoxys. What he does on his game doesn't effect your game, so don't beat him down.

But I'm not saying your wrong. If you worked for that pokemon, I'm certain your a little touchy if someone cheats to get it.

I got a Larvatar on my game before I got the national dex from my cousin who did. Does that make me a cheater? Not at all, it's my game, and I didn't feel like waiting. But I did feel a little guilty.

EDIT: Nickwarr, I had to edit for this. Wahddya mean "take the fun out of it"? I sure don't find it fun going to those events, and I live in New York. But I can see where your coming from. Like a kid about to buy his first game.

Well, to get a Pokémon (most likely because of Pokédex) is NOT cheating, because you never use it to do things easier. It's just to have it in your Dex. Now, it would be cheating if it was Mewtwo or Cresselia. If you have it in your PC without bothering anybody, why should anybody care?

If you want it to battle, I'd say it's half cheating, but for me not cheating either because you may have an awesome strategy using Celebi, but you simply can't get it. If you get a Celebi WITHOUT altered stats, moves, nature, IVs, etc., you are free to use it.

If you want it in your Pokédex, okay, though Nintendo thought about this and decided not to need event Pokémon for your Pokédex star. If you want to battle with it, be fair. I'm okay with that.

is it cheating getting your hands on event pokemon, no i say because if you don't have wireless internet then thats unfair, but getting pokemon in the game is cheating

Why buy a cheat device when you can download a ROM use cheats for free XD thats what I do when I want a Legendary. Well not anymore since I can make a legendary appera without cheating on a ROM by alteratering data ^_^ you cheater XD

Cheating for yourself is fine, because you're cheating the system. Trading it to others is wrong because you're cheating others.

    what

be a man (or woman note required to put this so that i am not sewed)
get your hand dirty and get them the hard way cheater
